Not a fan of mono-colored Transformers in general, but the designs themselves are ok. Maybe a bit too Bay-ey still compared to Bee’s redesign.

At this present moment it’s related to the bayverse but if it gets good money it won’t be.

Maybe they are more along the lines of autobot Tracks. Just the car with wings attached to it. Maybe some thrusters.

Well, the Wreckers in DOTM were caricatures of rednecks. This the next logical step. :lol

"The Lovers" codename does open up some possibilities of conjunx endura from IDW (Bonnie and Clyde, as someone else mentioned). Or a hint of duocon combination (to achieve enough mass for a plausible Earth aircraft alt mode though one having chopper parts and another jet parts may exclude that option).

Or the codename could mean absolutely nothing at all, and was just a meaningless nickname for the writers to use.

They do remind me of Decepticon versions of Tracks and Road Rage to some degree.

Considering 90% of the cast from the previous films where just called things like "Skatebot", "Wheelbot" or "NasCarbot", that's a plausable theory.

WOW! First of all I have no idea how I've not seen the news already! The designs look great. Not overly complicated and easier on the eyes! Just perfect. I really think this is the best approatch for these movies. Smaller budget films. What Travis Knight says is absolutely correct. That way you get more time to develop the characters simply because there's few of them. I'm gonna quote some guy from Hasbro talking about RID (2015) - "This is a chance for Bumblebee and some of the previously minor characters to really shine!"

P.S. Female doesn't look very feminine.

Man I absolutely love these designs. I think they're the best ones we've ever gotten. More simplistic and closer to G1 yet they still don't look cartoonish and less-detailed!

These two have a change of heart at the end of the movie. And then they become...

...these two. Proving it is a prequel to Revenge of the Fallen. ;)

“When the cast is too big, and you have a finite amount of time, there’s only so much you can do to create an investment in them,” Shade thrown, but I'm glad to see that he at least seems to care in a way Bay didn't.

Haven't read everyone's commits yet. The positives I'm taking from it so far:

Color. Oh thank goodness there is some bright interesting color to the villains. There shouldn't be any question to who is who in fight now that there is lots and lots of color in the robot modes. Also liking that they seem to going with the idea that you need to see some vehicle parts in the robot mode.

Having a bad girl. In the cartoons the bad girls were always more fun characters than the good girls so I'm glad they decided you know what these movies need a cool bad girl robot.

Personality. I really like the idea that they are going for some personality in the Decepticons instead of you have to look on the back of the toy packaging to know anything about the character. I know people have different taste in villains but I've always been drawn to villains as a full fledged character over the load of generic goons for the good guy to take out in waves.

So should it be taken that
they acquire this ability during the course of the movie?

The Transformers in this movie all look suspiciously like... Transformers.  Is this some kind of nefarious trap?!  Travis Knight, what sort of cinematic shenanigans are you playing at?

If it\'s not mentioned already, let\'s appreciate the fact that the Decepticons actually have some vibrant colors on them and best part about it... it isn\'t dark whatsoever! Really happy about that change. Looking forward to more reveals regarding the movie!

I do like Blackout's dark grey coloring in the first movie, but it does kind of lose all meaning when every other Decepticon was like that as well. So yeah, I'm glad to finally see some real* color introduced. (IMO the KSI bots don't count.)

(*I mean to be fair, the first movie's Deceptions were at least a little bit distinct; Bonecrusher was tan, Brawl was green, Blackout was black, Starscream was light grey, and Megatron was a more polished/shiny silver... But the colors were all still very muted, and Megatron and Starscream were particularly hard to tell apart unless you were really paying attention, which... Isn't what general audience members go to Bay movies for.)
