I dunno, this seems a little over the top, and getting out of hand. I just want a machine that plays video games, simple as that. Yeesh.

 

I'm digging those controller gloves. Hopefully someone will make an oldschool NES style glove for it.

 

I love new console releases. It's always so exciting just looking at the packaging and accessories.

 

the Wii has a little hint of Apple...which is good.

and i wonder if there's gonna be nunchuck gloves.

and i'm guessing the Wii will be taking over (or sharing) the GC shelve portion at Target....the GBA/DS is sharing, the PSP took over some PS2 shelves, and the 360 took over some XB shelves.

 

Have they announced when places like Gamestop will be taking pre-orders for this yet?

you know, considering I am jobless this wii makes me sad knowing there is no chance in hell I can adquire it until I enter to co- op in a few semesters.-posibly fall/winter of the next year, for 4 months.-it will be so awsome though.

 

No, thats all official nintendo stuff. not required to play the system though, just little extras. like the GBA Micro socks. does the GBA Micro need a sock? no. but you can get one if you want.

 

What seems over the top?

If anything, it's the media attention, rather than the console and merchandising, that's over the top. These were probably just taken by some worker with his camera phone. The only real difference between the launch of the Wii and the N64 is the fact that communication is instant and information is available more quickly, fueling hype and excitement amongst the fans.

 

Hmm. I see the Nintendo seal, of course, but that other logo looks very third party.

Kind of like those small DS cases I see now.

The "Switch N' Carry" logo that's stamped on all nintendo's recent carry cases? Those are all official nintendo products.

 

Urge to Wii, rising....

Seriously though, this is the coolest thing I've seen all day.

 

went to Target and they had one of those up....also saw a couple of people buying it too...the controller golves comes with different logos too (saw a Mario M, Zelda Trifirce, Wii logo)

the Wii Points card isn't actually a card...its the size of like 10-20 cards together...and its plastic.
