Yes! I meant to add making a Buster that can actually tab in correctly. Having an MPM that can transform without frustration would've received a lot more of a positive reception than it did. The mold is amazing.

I wouldn't mind a flipped version so he can dual wield.

I'm the only one who feels they're going to re-do prime? (like 25-50% at least) but now using modern techniques like with barricade and ironhide, i do mean the use of the ILM files and stuff.

Also i hope there's a buster version coming.

Yeah, most collectors seem to prefer the robot mode. I go for both modes and the transformation all equally. I love displaying my leader Primes with the UFO trailer and the vehicle mode scale is my primary scaling concern.

I'm almost positive they'll make another one, just like they've done with the first MP and the leader Prime. Now, though, they have competition with companies like LT and Black Mamba cutting into their demand.

I thought they already had access to those ILM CG files for the current MPM line?

I'm sure they started with barricade as trend, in fact, i'm sure the first source said that they were going to start with barricade using that files.

Anyway, let's remember the first two were just an "experiment".

Count me in for those hoping a re-do of the MPM-4.
Hasbro must do it or Legendary Toys and Black Apple can slap their faces saying,
"This is how you fix your own mess".

Really downright frustrating that Has-Tak have the Cad files and 3D assets from ILM yet the final product is a mess.
If the hood can't flush fully, what do you call that? What's sad is that they charged us full price on a product that doesn't really sit in together.

Has-Tak can't even put a display demo figure of MPM-4 in truck mode in their promotion events. Goes to show their guilty of the mess.

Considering they made MPM4 only a year or two ago I highly doubt we will see another attempt from HasTak anytime soon. Even if they did a buster or DOTM version, it’d essentially be the same figure. Better to place hopes on third parties making first trilogy Prime because that seems more likely imo

    You're right.

Honestly, the MPM Prime as figure i can say it's really fun and amazing in its own, but as representation, IMHO, it's a big disappointment.

The reason i want a new brand official, it's because Takara unlike the 3Ps, has access to the actual CAD files to replicate it better.

They already had access to the ILM files, and this has been a trend since ROTF (i.e. movie comes out, initial toys use concept art, any future toys use final ILM models). If I recall correctly the only thing that's changed is that since the latter end of TLK, they now directly use bits of the ILM models when making CADs of new toys.

The only way MPM-4 could be closer to the ILM model is through an alternate transformation (and by fixing the weirdly off-model head), but all the details are on point otherwise, and have been for the vast majority of original trilogy Optimus toys since 2009.

Other than a DOTM retool, I wouldn't go expecting a new MP design for movie Optimus. Once the series is rebooted Hasbro won't look back on these designs, especially if the new films receive the good press that the previous ones failed to garner. G1 Optimus is a different scenario, since he's the most iconic and loved incarnation of a classic character, not to mention deeply rooted in popular and 1980s culture. Look at the number of older Marvel and DC movie collectibles that are released nowadays - Hasbro probably wouldn't even have reason to release that few for the Bay movies once they have the new ball rolling.

Hmm, I have a slightly different prediction. I believe the mainline will transfer over to the reboot character designs once that happens, however, I feel like the MPM line will still produce old movieverse characters. Granted, the movie characters aren't as rooted in the brand as the G1 characters, they still carry nostalgia. There are many fans who'd love to have an MPM Blackout of an MPM Bonecrusher, regardless of the reboot. I definitely see at least all of the movie 1 characters being produced.

Ive seen a few people say that one of mpm Optimus' biggest accuracy problems is that the truck kibble is just too big for the robot mode, kinda like someone wearing clothes a few sizes too big. Thats almost always been a problem for movie Optimus figures. I'm wanting to see if i can come up with a fully new transformation that would let a larger robot fold out of a smaller truck, making the truck kibble closer to the right size.

I have a question though, and I'm not sure how to find the answer myself so I'll just ask here. Can someone find the length of Optimus' truck mode in real life? Thats all I need to start with and I've seen a lot of varying answers floating around. Does anyone know the actual exact size of that truck?

That's going to be a tough question. Your best bet is to get stock peterbilt dimensions since he's been customized. Even then, the frame can be extended for purpose.

29 feet long according to @Noideaforaname in the scale project thread, but i don't know if he used the stock length or did the math for the customized version

29 feet comes from official scale charts:

Which is mighty convenient since it's surprisingly hard trying to find the sizes of trucks...
