I've owned MPM-04 Takara version for a few months now but never got round to tabbing in the truck mode properly as I'm a bot mode fan.
Anyway I gave it a go and mine seems to tab in generally quite well.
Little bit of massaging here and there and going back and forth a few times when bits pop out but overall not too much trouble. 20171216_225402.jpg 20171216_225423.jpg 20171216_225511.jpg 20171216_225522 (1).jpg

Still considering to sell my kidneys or something to attempt for a dank Takara copy. Even though I've developed an attachment with my almost functional Hasbro one...

Also waiting to see how the KO turns out or if there's an overpriced premium paintjob surfacing with some different mold changes (mainly, the neck) too.

Just got the Hasbro version (72401) from a local retailer and so far didn't have any issues with the tabbing. Went Emgo's route and took a few more minutes to carefully fiddle with it but it's good. A really cool figure in my opinion.

In my mind, I debated changing Nute Gunray to Seth Sunthay, but in the end decided against it. Maybe next time

Nope, no gaps. And that is on both sides.

Anyone know if the Mr. Bucket set will work with the Takara version? I'm thinking that it looks morel like it was designed for the dark gray of the Hasbro one.

Not sure if this counts? This is their b version , fingers will remain gunmetal but the other parts of the hands are silver according to what they say . 1CF08766-6096-4187-B04F-5AAE1378FAA8.jpeg

Incredible. There's no hidden stand there or anything?

Can someone give me a quick rundown on this guy? I followed this thread early on when the Hasbro version was first released and I have the impression he had a few missing paint apps and didn't peg together well in vehicle mode. The takara seems better (though not perfect) at tabbing and has different grey plastic. Is there a consensus one to get? Any definite mods to make? Thanks in advance!

Please see the attached pic for extra paint apps on the TT version.

I have circled the extra gold paint the TT version has over the Hasbro version.

The TT version also has a tiny Autobot insignia paint app (just above the 2 gold circles on his abs) that the Hasbro version doesn’t.

All the grey plastic on the TT version (including the gun) is a darker shade of grey on the Hasbro version.

I don’t own the Hasbro version so cannot comment on the mold or tabbing issues.

My TT version tabs in perfectly for robot mode.

RE truck mode in order to get it to tab in correctly, I did have to go back and forth a few times (you tab in one section and another section untabs and vice versa) until it all tabbed in (no modding needed at all).

I hate to justify why a Transformer has problems (as it shouldn’t if it is designed properly) but MPM-04 is more complex than most MP figures and does an amazing job of doing both modes justice whilst also being very articulated and posable.
