So, I got my Takara version in yesterday and I love it! No issues, everything seems to tab in and line up just fine! Only issue is the right arm isn't 100% screwed at the elbow joint...but it's not enough to be a problem, so if I don't have the right size screwdriver, it's not gonna be a big deal. Other than that, my figure is 99% problem free and honestly amazing. The light gray plastic looks better in person, and I already liked it in photos. Really happy to have the Takara version and just generally happy to have the figure. Definitely can recommend the figure. Really gonna be interesting when the inevitable Dark of the Moon retool eventually comes around.

Just out of curiosity, what paints best match the red and blue on the figure?

No news on red. But thanks to @artimus prime, Testors Enamel Gloss Dark Blue is a virtually perfect match of the factory blue

The only thing that is off is the metal flake that they put into the plastic. I suppose you could add the flake yourself if it bothers you a lot.

It's all I got lol, so I definitely won't "flake" on the opportunity to get it

Might have met my match made in heaven for silver, thanks to @Jhund. Waiting to hear back

I agree that's what I used. I think their gloss red is pretty close too

I ca give you pics but it will be tomorrow. I'm not with the figure tonight. I'm not the best so don't expect the cleanest lines but you can at least see the color. I used (all testors) dark gloss blue gloss red gloss yellow silver and gold on him.

How long should I let the paint set before handling the figure?

    According to official FAQ
    TESTORS ENAMEL PAINT:

Enamels require 48-72 hours for a full cure. To avoid possible wrinkling, recoat withing 3 hours or after 48 hours.

Knowing my patience, I'd take a blowtorch to poor MPM-4, so let's not encourage me down that route :lol
