Never owned a true MP figure before but... I can still say that handling MPM-4 in bot mode is a good deal more enjoyable than my APS-01 Striker figure so far (granted, KO, but comparing it to videos it's almost indistinguishable to me aside from a couple spots). MPM-3 is no slouch either.

Now my leader figure looks like he needs a diet to me. Truck-wise it's more robust & coherent though.

Wow...the level of disappointment in this thread is just...well stupid to be perfectly blunt. Come on guys, we're all adults here, we all new there was a chance the Takara version would have the same problems as the Hasbro one. I mean sure it's good to hope, but you also have to be prepared to be let down...

That being said, I'm still super excited for this guy. The paint apps (blue stripe FTW!!!) and grey plastic are far superior to the hasbro version IMO. And as I rightly predicted when preorders for this guy initially went up, he should arrive just in time to alleviate the anxiety I've been building over the bevy of exams I have next week.

 

You know what would really rub it in? The new batch from Hasbro actually fixes those problems.

 

Guess I'll cancel my preorder and just wait for the cheaper KO.


If I'm gonna get a figure with issues, it may as well be half the price.

Yes, they are under the Masterpiece sub-line. My point is that I personally feel that these MPM figures do not live up to the quality and presentation that I expect from said Masterpiece line.

For me the economy shipping and the fast shipping only had a difference of 3 dollars. It seems silly to go with economy.

 

I am in the US, Fast Shipping is almost double.
