I picked one up yesterday even though I have Takara on pre-order.
    • I thought the gray might be a little too dark, but it's nice in person.
    • I really love the blue colors on this figure - beautiful!
    • Someone had complained about the shoulders not tabbing in. This might be due to poorly arranged sleeper top pieces in the back.
    • Truck mode doesn't tab in. I can get the hood pieces to line up, but the shoulder pieces that form the doors push the windshield away. I flush up the windshield and leave those doors out a little. It's less distracting to me.
    • MP-10 trailer gimmick is nice, but the truck seems a little too small for it.
I'll sell one when the Takara version comes in.

And he's much more screen accurate in truck mode too. The headache rack isn't wide enough and there are all those tabbing problems, but otherwise the truck mode is way better proportioned than the leader truck mode.

That's not entirely true, the smokestacks are short, and the gas tanks are short too, while are bigger in the leader.

Ah, I forgot about the tanks but I don't count the smokestacks because they're just as short as on the leader. So the only parts of the design less accurate than the leader is a slightly too thin headache rack and slightly too thin gas tanks. Everything else is much better.

Someone posted some pictures a while back comparing the mpm and leader to the real truck and its obvious how much closer the mpm is to the real thing.

Guess you're right, the cab in the leader is too big compared to the real, also, it doesn't has the pipes and a the grill is too flat, and the back even is too big while in the mpm us too short.

I have fought with this figure for over a week now. Even with all his flaws, I still love him. Of course I would love an issue free version, but I'm happy with him in the meantime.

I have hasbro copy " delayed due to recall" and Takara to look forward to . But I would love a flawed one to seal it up , as part of this "historic debacle lol" . But that's just me.
    Ps
Don't those error/ flawed copies go for a smal sum in time ? Or is this absent from this hobby ?

It's when you're watching a video, and them darn YouTubers keep stretching the video to get that sweet ad revenue and then you get sick of watching them fondle themselves to their own voices

Just kidding, it really means when something is repeated to the point of it being annoying, kinda like a "we get the point" sorta vibe

First you learned what a b-pillar is, and now you know ad nauseam. Isn't TFW2005 a wonderful knowledgeable place?

In 10 years the MPM4 will be praised. That is just how Nostalgia works. Besides, who isn't to say that by EOY there won't be fixed versions flooding the stores and the broken ones won't be sought after?

Here's a really stupid idea I would like for to catch on. So you know how MPM-4's swords attach to his gun? What if we could get HasTak & 3rd parties to unanimously agree to continue to create every future accessory to make it be able to peg onto the gun during truck mode, and just to keep stacking all accessories onto the gun until we either have an official or 3rd party trailer

I'm pretty sure that if a DOTM version comes out, Takara is just crazy enough to give us a trailer.

I remember going bonkers over the Takara DOTM inferior Voyager Optimus Prime w/ Trailer, so they're no strangers to going out of their way to make a trailer for Prime.

Also, I tested out my idea and can confirm in no way does this look cumbersome or stupid. I think HasTak is looking at a potential moneymaker with this level of weapon storage! Who needs the trailer, PAH

What the heck else are people supposed to talk about at this point? Every last topic has been discussed over and over for the past 200 pages anyway, so you might as well unsub from this thread because it's never going to change.

I'm not even subbed to this thread.

It's not necessary to talk about anything just for the sake of talking about it. We've heard the comparisons between Leader ROTF Prime (and his molds) versus MPM-4 thousands of times. They aren't the same figure and honestly we should be expecting better from a Masterpiece figure.

Yeah I said that a couple pages back. It's pretty clear given that they do every possible repaint and remold for the regular MP line.

But speaking of the weapon storage, MAN is it lame on this figure. I tried the official version once and kept it in for about three seconds before I decided "never again". I'd love for a 3P company to give us something better. Something that at least folds up into something less obtrusive and truck-like?
And yet you seem to post more than almost anyone, just talking about how dumb our conversations are? I mean, when you were annoyed about the scale discussions I was with you, but now you seem to just be discouraging any more talk about what is a very important figure for the future of Transformers.
