Correct me if I'm wrong, but not even Emgo could get the smokestacks to tab in in alt. mode. Granted, everything else he did worked.

Tempting as this is, my concern is the possibility of re-releases like the DOTM Optimus. MPM-4 covers the first two movies, despite missing a left handed gun, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a DOTM version with new abs and weapons later on. To say nothing of figures packed with Prime assorted jetpacks.

While I think the official promo pics are amazing, these are pretty much the ones we've been seeing on the box of the MP, the one with the busted chest mold.

    Also, compared to THIS:

Busted chest or not, Takara knows how to transform and show off their products.

    Aghhhh....which way to go?

Hate the lighter grey but love the extra paint and maybe it'll tab better. But costs more though possibly easier to get.

I haven't bought MPM Prime yet as I've been waiting for Takara to reveal theirs. It's clear that the Takara version is different but I hope that the molding has been refined too. If the Takara one fixes the tabbing issues I'll grab that one over the Hasbro version.

    I prefer Takara Imo.
However, the one of the pics above have the tanks half-painted, wich me thinks that the vehicle pics is the hasbro version.

Anyway, i do hope the Tak ver. is fixed off in the hood.

EDIT:Also, did you notice in the first pic he has the autobot symbol PAINTED

With the chest configuration, this feels even more like a test sample and not the final product. What a shame, cause the grey looks much better here

The white outlines around the flames don't look as obnoxious on the Takara version. That alone makes it better.

Well even if I get one that has a couple issues, I'm ok with it. This is by far the best movie Optimus mold, and a lot of the bigger issues seem to be due to an intricate transformation process that the instructions don't identify.

Damn, those photos are almost making me change my mind. It really looks great, but it's clearly not the final release, as it has the autobot symbol and the grey pegs in the chest. So we really still don't know if it'll tab together correctly on release.

If in hand photos come out and in normal light the grey looks more like this instead of the eyesore that was on display, I may have to import.

    Transformation: fixed
    Paint: present
Conclusion: only course of action is to procure Takara edition

BTW, the one on the show floor may have simply been a prototype without the autobot logo. Aside from MP-22 (who was intentionally changed to be more accurate), every Takara MP has matched the official photos to a T.

So glad the blue is sightly darker and the white lines aren't as noticeable as hasbro's.

I'd love to be able to think all was fixed and that these photos represented a final piece, but I'm fairly certain the promo images ARE of the prototype. These images are months old, so why would Takara put an even earlier version out on display when it's so close to release and they had a better copy months ago? Plus, it was made clear the grey parts under the windows were a mistake, which has been fixed on the display copy.

I think what we see on display is what we'll get. Same pinstriping as Hasbro's, all painted details from the box except the autobot logo, an awful white-grey plastic, and a chest that looks like Hasbro's, but may be fixed in a better way.

Man, this is such an agrovating figure! Both versions have their flaws, both have had the weird broken chest, missing paint details. I just hope that when both are released proper, it'll be worth its $100 or so asking price. As it stands I'm passing on both versions until someone can confirm everything's fixed

I don't know where the people say that the chest is broken in the tak version, in the expo the chest is fine, those are old stock photos above here with a prototype, plus, at least the full figure (except hands and forearms still) are PAINTED.

The number in the rear wheels says that this is still a prototype though.

Nobody will know anything for sure until the figure is closer to release.
What we are seeing now is hope speaking in from people because we can see takara has actually made changes cosmetically.

Takaras track record combined with seeing they are changing things with the figure itself is making people excited the issues present on the hasbro version of the mold will be rectified.

Fingers crossed until we get more information and production samples shown
