Serious question though, do you all think HasTak will continue the tradition of MP coins, or will the movie masterpieces see another type of official seal?

 

Yup for both MPM Bee and Prime. my poor dying wallet.. 

 

I have no issue at all with the lack of weapons storage on alternate mode. I can put the weapons in the box, just like I put the accessories of MP Optimus Primal.

 

Are you sure? We had Bee in July and Prime in September a couple of pages back... I'm super excited for Prime, so I don't want to raise my hopes only for them to be dashed later. (>.<)

Hm... The thing is, I really do want to be hopeful, but I can't stop wondering if it's a case of either:

- An illusion that the head can go over the chest piece by simply angling the head upwards or...
- not fully extending the neck joint in other pictures.



Even in this picture, the head seems to be much higher than the chest pieces, but the chest pieces are still raised quite a bit...

Well, either way, at least we know the neck articulation won't be hindered. (^.^')

 

Yeah, but something i can say at least is that the chest pieces sit lower to be connected with the ab parts.
One thing i can notice, is in that pic, has a long neck joint

 

One thing i can complain is about how Hasbro left some paint in the forearms and back.

 

I keep checking this thread with hopes of being amazed by new pictures and keep getting turned off by the red pieces in his midsection. While I'm definitely used to ROTF Prime, this guy seems to do just about everything better but I'm still having a hard time with that one spot. Maybe seeing him in a reviewer's hands will make a difference.

 

Then i'm sure you'll like a DOTM version with that accurate abdomen if you don't like de ab parts in this guy, wich i understand.

The ROTF Leader's abdomen was based off the earlier deisgn and not the finished one, that's why the torso has those lines in the abdomen and the red parts are so tiny.

The thing is that, the Leader class from ROTF had an inaccurate abdomen wich did not bother to anyone because the sculpt is exactly as the finished model, but the proportions of the ab parts are so tiny, but anyway, was still inaccurate.
Those pieces were big in the cgi model tho.

This prime got a transformation scheme wich makes the flames on the forearms kinda inaccurate (kinda because they're the same flames, but cropped) but the red parts accurate at the same time, altought, i can understand it, so then, they made the headlights on the red pieces the ACTUAL headlights, thing that makes the old mould (ROTF) even worse. (Or less impressive)

The major problem is how the Hasbro's photographer did not even bother to take decent pics for even the box.

Eh, i think the windows indeed get close (to the ab parts only) they sit lower to be connected to the ab parts witht the grey clips, but i'm not sure they get close BETWEEN them.
(If you don't understand me, is simple, they sit lower, but they can't get closer between the collar pice at least for me).
But by the transformation scheme, they could get closer between because they do im the alt-mode, you even made some pic showing the empty space.

Then i'm sure the MPM Prime will be making some special appearence in the TTS event (wich is only 3 days away).

I'm SO going to cave in and put pre-orders for both MPM Bee and Prime from my local toy/hobby shop in the next 2 weeks. Sigh..

 

It's not that I don't believe you... It's just that everywhere else has it as July for Bee and September for Optimus. (^.^ 

Regardless, we'll know for sure once more pre-orders pop up online.

 

Haha..no worries. Somehow my local hobby shop in KL mentioned July for MPM Prime.. Regardless Im going to be SO broke..

These may be released in July, but I doubt they'll be on shelves in july. I've been checking at work and TRU hasn't even put in an order yet. Usually from order to store takes at least 2 weeks, so it's certainly possible, but they'd better get on it!

Given that every other distribution channel (US TRU, HA solicitations) has it out later than Bee, I think it's likely they made a mistake.

 

How similar/different is this compared to the ROTF Leader or the new MB version? Is this a brand new mold or a very extensive retool? Certain things like the legs and feet and the shoulder panels look very similar to the old ROTF mold.

I really wish there was a transformable version that actually did the shoulder pads properly with the correct shape and thickness instead of just a panel with the flame pattern.
