...Woah. How come Nick Roche's in-comic art looks so much better than the cover art he does? That's just weird...

Shockwave versus the Volcano! Will he be voiced by Tom Hanks?

That's not bad, but whats with the flaming and streaking eye. I might pick this up even though I'm not getting the Infiltration series.

The pencils are quite nice. The panels, and colors, are rather bland and very uninteresting.

i was wondering that too, i ended up with Roche's cover on #6, and thought it was kind of Brutal.

this is very stylized, but better. Colours seem a bit over saturated, not sure why shocky's so neon on the 2nd and 3rd pages compared to 'correct' on the first...
think it's just 'stylized' i kinda like it...

I like Nick's artwork, but I think there's some justice left to be served on Shockwave. He's a good artist, but not what I'd call "great" and "comic-book selling" material.

I agree. I misread the solicitations a month back and thought this was to be penciled by James Raiz.

I like the art. I'm gonna order this issue. After all it's Shockwave.

Man, as much as I can't seem to get into the Infiltration continuity, everything else IDW has worked on either looks, or has been quiet awesome.

id like to note that its the jpg compression thats made these pages so over saturated

you can easily see the toll compression took on the pics [pixelization and what not]

but anyway i do encourage y'all to give it a shot

Nick's a great artist and what sells this book more is how it plays a part in the overall IDW continuity :D
    fun stuff

Well, Nick's art may not be "comic standard", but I wouldn't expect them to put their "A list" guys on the one shots. That's what the mainline "Infiltration" & "Escalation" arks are all about... not to mention Stormbringer.

While the art might not be the greatest... the main draw here is the story and how it works into the overall IDW TFU. In that sense, I'll definently be picking it up. Besides... Nick's arts a hell of alot better than the shit that we got in the ever so overhyped TF Marvel run. At least everything will be colored right. :D

yeah, i hear that (plus it's a screen image as opposed to being printed on paper), but it's wierd, the way Shockwave is coloured, like, well Shockwave on the pin-up/cover images, but on the sequential pages he's almost pink with the super bright highlights.

i think that Raiz cover's decent, but he's done lots better, i like his more thick lined/heavy/sketchy inked style. the colours are definitely saving it.
mayyyybe, but i'd take most of Marvel's (or Dws) stuff over what we got in Infiltration...

Not my favorite TF art, but not bad. I think I prefer Raiz's work on the cover though.

I already ordered that comic in my local store.
