Gizmodo have gotten their hands on what appears to be the next revision in Apple's iPhone line:

I'll be keeping an eye on this.

You missed the biggest change. The ability to manually change the battery.

I hope this time a possible white version will also have a white FRONT. Always thought it looked silly (even though most people had the full black one anyway).

    I like the shape.

Just read this right before clicking back to TFW. Didn't see the video though. Not bad, especially the forward-facing camera, though a bit of a slap since the newly-released Ipad probably won't have that for another year.

    I missed that.
The ability to change the batter will be very beneficial.

Apple announced that is not the new iPhone, but a Japanese fake.
That being said, I think Apple is full of poop. The story of it being found in a bar sounds like total BS.

Actually, Joe and Board, when I went through Gizmodo's official "review" of this unit, NOTHING about "manual battery change" was in it. I'll go through a second time, just to be sure...

EDIT: Just went over it again, and yes, there was no mention of "manual battery change".

If someone can kindly point out to me something that should be obvious... >.<

But ever since that damned iPhone OS 4 meeting sometime last week, I've been actually excited about this new device.

Like, it's just such a step up, both in Hardware AND Software.

If it comes out by the time I'm set up with a job and my career, this is the first thing I'll buy. Good thing I held out on the original iPhone :D

    Yay?

I really do like the physical form factor of the iPhone devices, I just wish they ran Android and worked on a cellular carrier I can actually use reliably instead of the spotty service and coverage that is AT&T in this area.

I can find no reports that Apple have announced that this is a Japanese fake.

What I have found is Engadget's apparent backing that this is legit: iPhone 4G: proof -- Engadget

While I agree that it does seem strange that Apple would allow someone to take a prototype out into the wild, let alone a bar then lose it, the evidence to support that this is the real deal is mounting. But I could be wrong.

I guess it's a double edge sword for Apple. Get the article's pulled and they pretty much confirm it's real, leave it alone and a lot of thunder has been pulled from their presentation in June. Either way, someone's head will be rolling at Apple.

The article says the phone contains miniaturized Apple hardware, and has iPhone OS 4.0 which was quickly remotely deactivated. iTunes also recognizes it as an iPhone yet the ID codes are of an unseen model. I highly doubt it's a fake.

It also has micro-SIM, which has yet to be seen in an American phone. I doubt a fake would contain that.

I like the 80 gigs of storage, finally some space to store things, it could also lead to larger games from developers.

I'm curious where this info came from, as everything I've read said it was a noise canceling mic.

i want to get a iPhone but plan on waiting...hopefully it doesnt go the micro-SIM route...it'll be a pain to unlock/jailbreak it unless T-Mobile goes that route too.

Have you not read the articles posted in this thread? It's micro-SIM, already in the hardware.
