I loved the first Hellboy and i hope this one is just as good. Is Niles Craine playing Abe again? I wonder because he wasn't the voice in the cartoon.
Possibly. He was uncredited in the first one (even though anyone with half a brain would probably recognize his voice) because he didn't want to detract from the guy who does the motion-capture work (Doug Jones). Jones is confirmed to be returning, regardless.
The guy in the containment suit's a Hellboy character. I understand in the comics his backstory is that he's a mystic who's body died while his spirit was wandering outside its body. So he's essentially ectoplasm that's surviving by living inside a containment suit.
Doug Jones was originally just going to be the voice of Abe, but the studio wanted a tad more star power and got Niles to do the voice (as is Doug Jones' life). Unlike some other times Doug's voice was taken away, Niles WAS a cool cat and didn't want to over shine him. In the animated series Doug himself has been the voice of Abe. I beleive a little bit ago it was confirmed that Doug Jones would be the voice of Abe. Which I think is great.
First I've heard of this, and a great way to find out! I remember Ron Perlman's ugly mug from CBS in the 80s!
Sweet, adding a few more members of the BPRD. Love Johann's character in the comics, he's a pretty good natured considering his body got roasted. Now I want to see Roger and Lobster Johnson.
