I've had GH2 for about 3 weeks now and I've run into this same problem. For every Shout At The Devil and Sweet Child O Mine I unlock, I've got to put up with Pearl Jam, Butthole Surfers, Rage Against The Machine and a bunch of bands I've never heard of. I know they've got to include a wide array of bands and songs because everybody likes something different, but give me more KISS, Van Halen, Guns N Roses, Aerosmith, Def Leppard - you know, bands that actually ROCK.

See for me, I could do with more things like Butthole Surfers and Reverend Horton Heat and would be happy with no boring ass dinosaurs like Def Leppard and Aerosmith. I hate that stuff.

But like you said, the beauty of Guitar Hero is the variety. You're bound to not like everything, and I'm bound to not like everything, but at the same time they're bound to sell more copies than they would if they packed it with a very narrow niche of rock music. See, we both buy it because we like enough of the tracks...if they packed it with hair metal and classic rock, I wouldn't shell out the cash. Likewise, if it were nothing but alternative bands, you wouldn't buy it. But since they put both, we both bought it. Multiple that by a much larger scale, and I really think that's been the secret to GH's success.

Yeah, maybe they can get to a point where it's all downloadable content like iTunes that way we can all just pick and choose what we want.

As long as it's not like what's currently going on with GH2 and the Xbox 360 (pricing structure, lack of DLC, etc.) I'm all for it.

I haven't looked into that yet but I heard songs are ridiculously expensive. Is that right?

Paint It Black is my favorite Stone’s song and while playing the Heart song in 2 all I could think was “I wish this was Barracuda instead.” I say so far so good.

I had people buggin’ me to no end to try it, telling me how awesome it is. I was sure it must be fun but it couldn’t be as much fun as people made it sound. Then I bought it… and it is.

In GH1 and GH2 I only knew maybe a 3rd of them, but it was thru playing these that i grew to actually like most of those "new" songs. I actually like almost all the tracks in the games so far.

    Ditto!

The track list was more varied in GH1 than in 2, I thought, at least in terms of eras of rock. I hadn't heard a lot of the tracks on GH2, but I grew to like almost all of them. GH3 looks like the best set list so far. Can't believe I'll actually buy 2 more GH games with the 80's version coming out as well.

One song I would love to see make the list is Rock the Casbah. Or any Clash song for that mater.

Come Back Jonee from DEVO would be cool too, but that would be a long shot at best.
