Same tour but for some reason Static X and Type O couldn't play that date. I can't remember the specifics but i remember being annoyed.
I remember having them open up spontaneously all around me at Pantera one year - while I enjoy a good pit, I don't enjoy with my hands full of beer! Somehow, I made it back to my seat with most of my beer that day
my first big show was in 2000 nine inch nails with a perfect circle as the opening act. To this day it's still one of the best shows I've ever seen. And there's been a ton!
First real concert was probably Weezer back in....2000 maybe? It was a the Alliance Energy Center in Madison. Terrible venue, terrible crowd, terrible opening band. Thankfully Tenacious D played before Weezer and that was totally freaking awesome. After that the crowd started pushing really bad, and I actually had breathing problems on the way home and had to have a friend take over driving for me. It was all because of stupid little 4 foot tall emo bitches wanting to push their way to the front so they could be up close to Rivers. Twats. I've never been to a concert with that much shoving since. People were better behaved at the Bad Religion show I went to.
Not counting local bands and festivals, the first real show I went to was probably Sepultura on their Chaos A.D. tour in 94. I managed to get front row center but the sound was shit and people were passing out all over the place from the heat. The security guys were getting pretty concerned because they couldn't get any water for the crowd and those of us in the front kept having to lift people over the barriers to get them to safety when they started to faint.
