Definitely fitting for G2, and the kind of thing I might buy as a curiousity at retail price, but not worth spending ~$300 on a BotCon set for. Easy pass.

I'm glad FP is having fun with the ridiculousness of the G2 color schemes. It should be an entertaining set this year.

One request though: Please include a Cybernet Space Cube accessory (like the Vector Sigma accessory from 2007) with a window that will cause all of our Classics/Universe figures to appear to have strange color schemes when you look through it.

 

So does this mean we'll be getting a Clench figure (possibly remolded from Classics/Universe Onslaught) as one of the non-set exclusives for sale at the convention?

I normally don't care about the Bot-Con repaints...but this one has stirred something deep within my cold, black heart. I think I like this guy.

 

Other than the fact it was on the original toy, none that I know of.

While G2 inspired decos are Horrible (this is a fact, not conjecture or opinion)
the backstory is rather clever.

to me, looking at the original, they may have nailed it "technically" but i really don't think the color break-up works at all on that mold. The original, despite being bright has a nice flow that is completely lost here. The purple is extra-clashy. and those pink windows are just embarrassing. I think they could have revisited G2 without being as "bad" as G2 was...

Artfire would have been about 100x more desirable... oh, crap, with all that Nebulos talk they'll probably do that as an attendee figure, huh. (punches self in face.)
