Fixed. I want to encourage debate as much as possible. It just has to be non-stupid, and conducted by people that actually know what they're talking about.

At any rate, the "bulletproof" image of Firefox and other open-source software was shattered a long time ago. I've already had my feast. ;)

We know you're not stupid, though, so that doesn't count.

    (Or do we?)

Wasn't there a movie called Firefox or something where Angelina Jolie (and some other girls) showed her then recently legal boobies?

That was Foxfire, Firefox was about Clint Eastwood stealing a Russian super jet.

Thank goodness. I was tired of having to use my reliable Internet Explorer to correctly view webpages. Now I can go back to being hip!

Security flaws are exposed all the time. WHen that happens the problem gets fixed. From there it's your own damn fault if you don't update.

Personally I use firefox, not because it's safer, but because it's standards compliant.

It's far easier to develop for the standard using Firefox than it is to develop for IE and then have to hack the coding to get it to be AAA. If I can make it work perfectly in Firefox, i can then work out how to hack it for IE, not vice versa.

Developing for IE first, then standards compliant after makes no sense, why deliberately create something that is broken and then try to fix it? It's far easier to make something that works perfectly, meets all the WC3 guidlines, then hack little bits and pieces so it all works in IE.

For the record I don't hate Microsoft, otherwise I wouldn't be a MSDN subscriber or a 360 owner. I do however, think IE needs work. I hope to hell that IE7 irons out the bugs and the omissions that IE6 has, else there will be a lot of unhappy web developers when it launches.

If tabbed browsing was a deciding factor in "better browsers", then Netscape would be ahead too. :p
