YouTube - Firefly proves "darn" is more bad-ass than "This is Sparta!"
To be fair, they didn't have starship engines at the Battle of Thermopylae. Or even guns, for that matter.
Mal > Leonidas any day of the week.
I dream that, one day, Firefly will be brought back.
I love Firefly and it's movie Serenity, stupid Fox tv station! they cancel way too many good shows.
And as for the 300 reference, I think GogDog is talking more about the cool collected manner in which Capt. Mal disposes of his adversary as compared to the wild histrionics with which King Leonidas does. Which is why "Darn" is the clear winner.
Ditto, both counts.
And maybe they can put any new episodes before the movie so that Wash is still around...
Love this show.
This episode had so many badass moments. I can't decide what's more awesome: "Darn" or the scene where he calmly walks up to someone and shoots him in the forehead.
I love that bit. I cracks me up every time when Mel starts his little speech over with the 2nd guy.
Actually, that is just the title of the clip on youtube, and on the Digg article where I saw it posted (not for the first time, I do have the series on DVD).
I take no credit for this, I just posted it.
Imagine how many badass episodes we'd have right now if Fox hadn't screwed up. I just bought the season on Bluray. Pure bliss... Short lived, but blissful
I loved Serenity
Firefly is great too
Speaking of Digg...
You're preaching to the choir brother! There have been so many good or entertaining shows on Fox that have been cancelled. Heck, you could almost have a network of good shows that got cancelled because they were too smart or "not the right target demos" for their audiences.
Like many of you, I'd love to see a Firefly II TV series. Of course, I'd also like to see The Tick, Studio 60, and Pushing Daisies return to TV as well.
