Thanks a lot guys. Thanks to all the discussion we have had over the week, regarding Firefly/Serenity, I have gone back and introduced them to my girlfriend (also rewatching them myself after quite a while). I had forgotten how bloody enjoyable that show and those characters are. I really hope the movie isn't the end. I hope that the Sci-Fi straight to TV movie is still a reality in Joss' mind. Jayne's Town FTW!

Yea Firefly/Serenity was a damn good show and movie.

Me and the wife bought the complete series a while back from FYE for a pretty decent price.

Many companies are starting to test the waters with Direct to Dvd projects, I know Babyalon 5 just got a new movie. Perhaps we will get a new Firefly.

Joss Whedon, in an interview about the special edition of the DVD release of Serenity was quoted in saying that the Studio execs asked him to do it, and that a second film could very well be based on the sales of this release if they are substantial enough...

I want my gorram trilogy, and a Jayne hat.

Everyone that I've introduced to Firefly has bought the boxed set.

    It has that much power.

Only problem I have is that I end up having to replace mine often since people borrow it and not want to give it back. lol

That's why I always do the introducing at my house. That way the sacred discs never leave.

Some of the episodes of the series were absolutely awesome, a couple were kind of ho-hum. Our Mrs. Renolds and Jaynestown are definite standouts. Serenity was a good film, wraps things up nicely but I don't see a sequel working that well. It would almost have to be a spin-off type movie/series. I will watch it if they do it.

A friend introduced me to Firefly last summer. I love it! I really hope Joss makes another movie/spinoff series/whatever of Firefly soon.

I just watched the first half of the initial two parter last night and it's the first I've seen of any of it. I have to say, thus far, I'm impressed. They way they played off two different characters as the shady ones, then tossed in the unexpected one as the betrayer was awesome. And right as it started to feel really important, my wife decided she had better things to do and we could watch more tomorrow.

Looks like I'm hooked. And if we end up really liking it all, I'll probably go pick up the special edition set that's coming out too. I'm crazy for special features on shows and movies I like.
