So yeah, definitely a bit early to be getting all those end-of-production details.

Maybe with their enthusiasm they can manage to fast-track it somewhat, but in all likelihood we're at least a year out from seeing a release, based on average production turnaround, sad to say.

 

Eeeh, my thing is, if you're going to nitpick about giving robots human anatomy, why just the sexualized bits? Like, why give robots two arms and two legs? Or a humanoid head with two eyes, a nose, and a mouth, all in the same positions?

The answer, of course, is that the robots are being designed by humans, who often design them-- intentionally or otherwise-- in familiar and relatable forms. You usually only see the out-there designs, be it for robots, aliens, or whatever, when someone is specifically trying to make something appear inhuman or very alien.

 

Right? I think about it sometimes where aliens and robots are just representations of humans, because that's what we know. So I try to skew it into something unfamiliar, but then I wonder if I'm trying too hard and if it's really just coming across that I'm purposefully steering away from the human form. Then I start to wonder if some of the stuff that I'm imagining is actually normal for some other race out there and if it would be a plain idea to them, even though it's out there for me. Then I go do something else lol

 

Yeah, there's a reason human-like bipedal motion is still one of the holy grails of robotics engineering, despite virtually all other forms of locomotion being far superior.

No kidding... When I was around 12 I remember watching TFTM with a few friends on VHS and pausing the scene where a ship crashed and Arcee ended up on the floor asking Daniel if he was alright. We all chuckled without saying anything because they drew her curvy as anything with a nice ro-butt. Around that same time I was trading collectible cards of sexy robot girl pin-up style art (Hajime Sorayama art cards) with my friends at school too. Alien dancer for Jabba the Hutt, green Orion girls on Star Trek, Jessica Rabbit, Arcee... If it was sexy, we didn't discriminate. I'm a grown-ass man now with a wife and kids so most of that seems a bit silly to me now, looking back, but here we all are collecting Transformers toys as adults because they are the figures we only dreamed of when we were kids, right? To me, this Firebird Arcee is awesome looking and the sexy aspect just makes it more appealing as one of those things I would have given my bike away for as a kid and would gladly drop $100 on now.
I thought the actual lines of what is morally wrong or perverted in a morally wrong way were pretty clear. Who came up with the new rules like "Robot is wrong", and where is the new line drawn these days?
Is it still okay that I think EDI and a lot of the alien ladies in the Mass Effect games are hot, or should I be feeling bad for that too now?

Man this has such a wonderful anime-styled 'Last Knight' vibe to it.
