And yes, that's the first Cybertron officially available in Germany from a store that doesn't get its stock from a warehose in a neighboring country.

Also makes total sense to start with one of the most expensive toys from the line, which isn't Optimus Prime either.

If this is an indication of a general trend, I predict the Cybertron line being a hot seller.[/sarcasm]

Wonder what we're gonna get for the movie toyline. The inevitable Bumblebee repaint and cell phone bot?

    Current status:

    Germany has

Scrapmetal (yellow), Ransack GTS, Brakedown GTS
    Unicron, Skywarp
    Galaxy Force Vector Prime, Quickmix
    Metroplex

    Plus some unspecified "Mini-Con three-packs".

That's what we officially got for Cybertron thus far (not counting a few stores getting their shipments from their HQs in the Netherlands).

At this rate, we'll probably be getting the inevitable Bumblebee repaint and the camera-bot for the movie line. :rolleyes2

Wasn't Metroplex's alt mode based on a German mining machine?

    Vaguely.

And I seriously doubt this had anything to do with Hasbro's decision to release him first. Especially since there aren't that many toys of those mining machines I'm aware of.

As far as I know, Crosswise was released in the Netherlands and Italy at the very least...

And furthermore, I somewhat doubt that whoever is in charge of Transformers distribution for Europe cares that much for the inspirations of the alternate modes... The big exception here would probably be Alternators, where we've heard a lot of really weird explanations for why certain toys were not released in Europe at all, or at leats not in certain countries. And in that case, the toys have the car model written on the packaging.
