    World's Strongest Beer

or as some of the drinkers here would call a "light beer"

    Probably tastes like arse.

Most super-strength ales do... overly bitter and harsh. I'd much rather try something at the 9% mark as a 'strong' ale.

It's all just a ploy to get me drunk really quickly.

I heard about this on the radio this morning. Being an Imerial Stout, I'm sure it's kick ass and as a microbrew fan I'd love to try it. The name alone screams "awesome".

Unfortunately they only ship in the UK, so I'm outta luck.

Do want! The strongest beer I've had was LobotomyBach, which is 10 proof, iirc.

    Ordered a bottle.

As it happens, I'm straight-edge, so I won't be drinking it :lol  But my fiancee loves microbreweries and artisan beers etc., so this will be right up her street :)

    £42 including shipping. SAD PANDA!

I love that name. But is it 32% or 32 proof? Must be 32 proof.

    Ebay:
We need further clarification. 64 proof would pack one helluva punch.

Beers don't use proofs like liquor, it's always an alcohol percentage or specific (or final) gravity. That gravity is usually a number between 1.03 and 1.15, so this has to be an alcohol percentage.

Is anyone aware of the laws regarding overseas shipping of alcohol like this? I've ordered Absinthe online before and didn't have any problems. I have to find a way to get a bottle of this.

I don't think you could GET 32% without distillation.

I'd sure as hell try this beer, but I can't say I'd have high hopes for the taste.

Well, they're all sold out now. The website says:

    IMPORTANT NOTICE

ALL ORDERS PLACED AT 11AM ON THE 22/02/2010 WILL BE DISPATCHED AFTER THE 10/3/2010 WHEN THE 5th BATCH OF TNP WILL BE READY.

    At least they're making more.

All this for a liquid that is toxic to your bodily functions? Your organic customs confuse me.

As much as I love trying new beers, pass for me.

I'd much rather rather a low percent that I can drink in mass quantities.

A group of us travelled to Indiana in December to buy a bottle. A friend runs a liquor store and had contacts who got a stock and held it for us. We make the trip almost annually when Dogfish and Flying Dog also release their "high alcohol" beers that Ohio can't get. The Sam Adams, although tasty, wasn't the best I've had. I don't think it was worth the $150 pricetag but it was good.
