I just got Lightning, Snow, and Vanille.

    Amazing.

It's so impressive to have large, human action figures that don't suck. I literally can't wait for Shiva.

Are these along the same heights as Figmas?

No, I have one Play Art, and it's definitely taller than my Figma.

Muuuuuuuch taller. The Play Arts Kai figures are around 9-10 inches tall. The original Play arts figures range between 7-8 inches, which is still much taller than figmas.

So far, the only thing I dislike is the wrist joint.

It is rotational, but not hinged. This makes any "fists up to fight!" poses look a bit silly, especially for Snow.

Everything else is exceptional, especially the way they manage clothing with the movable and hinged vinyl pieces.

I would've been all over these if they were scaled to figma sized figures.

Yeah, the wrist thing is a bummer, but overall I love the Lightning figure.

    It most certainly is.

Love the torso and back articulation as well. It reminds me of some EVA figures and models I have.

Blargh, just caved. The characters are growing on me quite a bit as I play through the game, so just snagged Series 1 off of eBay (since Snow and Lightning seem to be sold out near everywhere else), and pre-ordered the ludicrously expensive Shiva and Odin sets.

Odin's going to be ridiculously huge...

I'd love a Shiva, but can't justify that much money. (plus, I really only like how one of them looks in non-gestalt mode). Odin also rocks, but again--200 bucks?

All of the others are impractical to make as toys, if not impossible. Bahamut MAY be able to be done, with a lot of detachable/swappable parts for the wings.

Anyone know some good pics of a final production Lightning figure? The prototype looked to be the worst of the group (mainly the face) which was a big disappointment. (Snow and Sazh looked the best to me, of the prototypes)

In the comic shop in the mall I go to, I saw some FFXIII Play Arts. In my mind, I was questioning how the hell does Lightning's pocket-sword thing folded... And worked, since it had a trigger.

Also, despite what BBTS shows, the set does not include Snow.
