Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Announced - IGN
I think anyone who played 12-2 saw this coming.
Can't wait for the crying the 13 day time limit will bring, Dead Rising is smiling from up above.
People've been wanting a new Majora's Mask, right?
I was really getting interested until the time limit thing popped up. I hate time limits.
curious how the time limit will work. Only other conventional RPG (DR's leveling doesn't count, nor does Majora's) I can think of that did something similar was Ephemeral Fantasia, and that game... could have been better. (never did finish, now that I think about it)
I still haven't beaten FF-13 yet, and 13-2 is still sitting in its box. I'll definitely pick up 13-3 solely for the same of completing the 3 parts, but given I suck at video games, a doomsday counter is the last thing I need. I have the somewhat dubious honour of being the guy who's never survived even a single day in Pikmin. Surviving 13-3 might be too much of a challenge for me.
Also, 200 years is a bit too long. And without anyone else to play as...Square Enix better make something really really good. Because right now I'm not convinced.
While, I still want Versus, the more open world and Luxerion, the city which looks to be themed on borrowing or stealing the light/dark thing from Kingdom Hearts looks interesting.
Why do I have the feeling SE can't count to 13?
This is ridiculous. I know I sound like a broken record, but for goodness' sake, try SOMETHING new, SE. The first and second had too many flaws and them mixing it up again just seems like they're grasping at straws. It's like they want ONE FFXIII game to leave a good impression and they'll keep trying until no one cares.
Wake me up when we get Versus, or some solid info on XV...
Yes, because a crappy sequel with a time limit to a crappy sequel to a crappy game will definitely make up for its predecessors.
Am I the only one who thinks that Final Fantasy 13 was a good game? Sure, its not up the same standard as some other FF games, but that doesn't make it bad. Its like Skyward Sword to the Zelda series; not the best but a good standalone game nonetheless. 13 wasn't a bad game, it just wasn't the same as other FF games.
That, and frankly I liked 13's system, even if it was very indirect. Paradigm Shifts were annoying yet actually useful. Hell, if we could remove Hope from the game I'd have no complaints. Damned Hope. Why couldn't he die already?
It was actually my second favorite FF after Tactics.
Can't this wait for a few years? Release Versus 13 or say it's cancelled but do one of those before making this.
FFXIII felt like a chore at times, but overall it was a decent game.
FFXIII-2 was a lot more fun to play overall.
Fixed for you.
Damn it! SE says they won't be coming out with a FF7 remake until they release a FF that surpasses it. Releasing sequel after sequel of this lame game isn't going to help. I played 1 and didn't even finish it. The story wasn't particuraly bad but it's linear as all hell and the combat system is awful. I wouldn't even bother with 2 just hoping we'd get KH3 or Versus next.
XIII is a pile of trash and so are it's sequels. Give me Versus XIII. Now that looks like a REAL Final Fantasy instead of this crap.
Comparing Final Fantasy XIII to Skyward Sword is like comparing Transformers: Energon to Transformers: Animated.
If we're doing Final Fantasy sequels, I personally want a VI-2. We've got a sequel to IV, 2 prequels and 2 sequels to VII, and 2 sequels to XIII. Where's my VI-2?
Separate names with a comma.
