As long as you can customize the "gambit" portion of the battle system, the game will be pretty tight. I'm in.
Forget "Black". THIS is the last great PS2 game. It's too bad that it's coming out just a couple weeks before the PS3 hits.
From what I've heard, that's the entire point of it. The game doesn't hold your hand in setting up you Gambits. You have to unlock them, and then program them in yourself. And then manually override them if you find they're not working (apparently, Gambits don't work so hot in most boss battles). Everything I hear about this game sounds freakin' amazing. And it sounds like you'll get a lot of bang for your buck, as well. Reports say they've squeezed some 200+ odd hours of gameplay into this monster, with the main quest taking about 60+ hours, and the rest being sidequests which you can partake in practically any time you want to. And apparently 12 of those 200 hours is entirely devoted to some insane optional boss fight, so unbelievably long and hard that they even let you save in the middle of it so you can shut the game off and take a breather (12 hour fight? Eek). Curse my PS2-lessness. I'll have to rectify that...
