Well, dunno if this has been stated here already or not but just saw it the first time myself and well, I am stoked. Hoping to see this stateside sometime soon, was my first Final Fantasy and been thinking it would be excellent as a download for a while.

What do you guys think? And if a topic had already been started sorry, at work and the filters make it a hassle to surf too much.

I don't recall that game having bad load times, and you swap discs 3 times in the entire 40+ hours you play.... Really.....was it THAT bad?

I wouldn't hold my breath for it coming here, though I REALLY hope it does. There are dozens and dozens of games in the Japanese store for the PS1, including the Resident Evil series, that came out a LONG time ago and are still not in the US store. I hope FF7 is the exception and that 9 follows. They can keep 8.

8 had a good story, just the battle system was ass. As for the games not here yet I read something that they're trying to make this year better for the PSP, also with them trying out more of a download oriented theme it would be nice.

This is Liege Prime: Blah blah Final Fantasy 8 is good Blah blah blah!

Anywho, I would get it if it were available in the US, but I've played most of the FF's so many times that only full remakes get me hyped up.

Final Fantasy 8 had the best music...and I mean, DA BEST. I love that score, especially the ending. See? I always have something good to say also.

Well but your original statement made it seem like the game had horrible load times for everyone playing it. It's like me saying that after my 4th 360 RRODed I decided that Mass Effect was an unplayable game.

I'm still on the part where you have to keep the train from crashing on disc 2, I know you can fail but I want the materia or whatever if you stop it

The great thing about this PSP release is that if you still have your old PS1 save, you can port it over to the PSP and use it instead of starting all over. Since i just started a new FF7 game a few months ago, if it came out here on PSN I could just keep on going, portably.

8 will be a worthwhile trudge, 9 is fun.

10 though, that game was beautiful. Worth every minute playing it

9 was such a blast and had some great funny moments. The dynamic between Stiener and Zidain is great.

I'd have to disagree. The music in VII was one of the high points, plus the first time I got to Sephiroth's final form and, so far into the music, you start hearing the choir singing (crappy redbook singing yes, but still singing!) was pure awesome.

Also, the game normally only had long load times if you went back to the area you just left after entering a new area, because the game assumes you are going to actually head forward.

Anyhow, forget any PSN releases, REMAKE the thing already, and move on to, yanno, other games.

Every FF has had exceptional music. FFVI was an almost definitive game for SNES music, FFVII was terrific, FFVIII took it up a notch and added some cool electronicness, IX was tender and underrated, X was orchestral love (never played XI) and XII, while not Uematsu, was A-Mazing. I am a huge fan of Hitoshi Sakimoto's music, and Vagrant Story is still one of my favorite soundtracks for a game.

This. One Winged Angel is such a badass song. *Sephiroth's theme*

I agree with all this, though I still say 8 is my favorite soundtrack. FF7 had some great themes but the sample quality was pretty low, and 8 was the first main FF game to include some truly epic, real orchestrated music. You could tell Uematsu got the hang of working on the PS. Not insulting any of the the others, since as you were saying, the music in the whole series is great and I own and listen to all the soundtracks frequently.
