Shhhh, the Demo to this sleeper game was released last night along side WIPEOUT and KILLZONE's new expansions, so it was hiding in the background. I expected less of this game, and was happy that I seemed to get more. This game falls somewhere between Caliber, PowerStone, and Advent Children. The character choices are awesome (barring that you are a final fantasy fan), the music is taken from the games that the characters come from, and the RPG elements definitely make playing it for a long time worth it. I like beating the shit out of Cecil with Cloud afterall.
That I know of yes. I've kinda stayed away from it because the concept didn't interest me, until hearing that it was really well-taken in Japan, so I got curious.
That's a good question, not sure. The demo has Zidain, Tidus, Cloud, Sephiroth, Onion Knight from FF3, and Terra, from FF6, but I'm not sure what the rest of the cast consists of.
Is it just me or does Terra seem a bit unbalanced. After a bit of practice I could get through the demo with each character, but with her I barely got touched.
Yeah, I do like her magic, but I am still trying to get the controls down. Every once in a while I get a moment where I just start owning, but I am still learning the button configuration. Any tips?
Aaarg, my PSP is 100% dead. I want to try this, as I haven't had very high hopes for it but want to be proven wrong. Guess it'll be a long wait.
i like it....but due to the Brief Nudity thing in the rating I doubt I'll be able to Buy the Full Game.
No The full lineup is the lead hero and main villain of each FF title, 1-10, plus a couple of extras to represent 11 and 12. Spoiler FF1 - Light Warrior & Garland FF2 - Firion & Emperor Palamecia FF3 - Onion Knight & Cloud of Darkness FF4 - Cecil & Golbez FF5 - Bartz & Exdeath FF6 - Terra & Kefka FF7 - Cloud & Sephiroth FF8 - Squall & Ultimecia FF9 - Zidane & Kuja FF10 - Tidus & Jecht FF11 - Shantotto FF12 - Judge Gabranth I'd personally have picked a couple of other characters, though as I understand it, the game's director basically wanted to represent the personal clashes of each main character.
Diggin it. Liked the concept and was looking forward to it, but being able to play a demo of it just rocks. This is one thing Sony is doing right is with the demo.
I'm pretty stoked for the game. I read lots of positive stuff about the Japanese version and I can't resist buying a game with so many great characters involved and music from the games. I also heard the story mode takes upwards of 40 hours to beat. My original PSP has some issues- the analog nub is basically unusable and pulls up-right constantly, so I actually preordered the Dissidia/PSP bundle. I was thinking of holding out until the PSP Go, but the price combined with only downloadable games and a smaller screen made me stick with the PSP.
According to an interview with producer/character designer Tetsuya Nomura, Kain is definitely on the short list if they decide to make a second Dissidia game, so hopefully this one continues to sell well when it comes out in the US. I'd really rather see Gilgamesh, though, to be honest. He's the original dimension-hopping, multiple-game-crossing sword-swinging nut. There's no way he's not an absolutely perfect fit for Dissidia. I've put a few dozen hours into the Japanese version and beat the main story mode, and I'm definitely still looking forward to picking up the American release. They're evidently rebalancing it some, adding new moves, modes and cutscenes (featuring cameos from non-main characters) that weren't in the Japanese release, so there's a lot of stuff that will still be new to me. My only complaint is that Golbez won't be voiced by Iron Chef's Chairman Kaga in the English one. Liege Prime: if you haven't done this already, try entering the System Information screen (with the software version, nickname and MAC address) and rotating the analog stick all the way around its perimeter a handful of times. Supposedly this calibrates the stick, according to the PSP-1001 manual. I can't vouch for its effectiveness since I haven't had this problem with my PSP, but it might be worth a shot.
