Remember that old school Final Fantasy type of game we all wanted and were promised for the summer?

It's out on Friday for BOTH DROID and iOS at the same time (originally planned for iOS and later on DROID).

The downside is the game, the WHOLE game, will cost you $28.99.

Or $9.99 for a bundle of chapters.

Or $2.99 for a single chapter.

    :(

    Stupid Square-Enix.

So...is this a continuation of an existing Final Fantasy series or an entirely new story?

Because I don't want to risk that sort of money and get something that's not really that good. While I'm one of the people who actually like FF13, it's still a franchise where I don't have the trust to just drop the small amount of cash for ju...

    .....IT'S $28.99?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Damn....that's a lot of money... I'll wait for reviews first. While I need a decent RPG for my droid tablet, Square Enix might have set the bar a bit too high for me.

Still, good to Square Enix is following the newer marketing and business principles, employing the Skylanders principle of releasing small chapters at largely inflated prices. At least it'll keep them around for longer.

That's even worse than the 15.99 they are charging for FFIII for droid. They don't seem to realize that mobile has a much different pricing scheme than console.

Wow that is a lot of money for a mobile game. I stick to a $3 limit to my toilet games.

I really don't mind the pricing. That's how I used to pay for Xbox Live. Yeah, 30 bucks is a lot, but not at 3-10 bucks a month, or whenever you feel like moving on with the story. Not to mention, if you get bored with it, then don't buy the other chapters. I wish I could get half my money back if I don't complete a game. Game's pretty solid so far.

Apparently the Android version announcement was a mistake, it isn't even planned at this point for the US.

My tablet will have to wait I guess.

The good news is that I'm not crazy -I just couldn't find it.
The bad news is: no Android version. :(
