I sat down last night and watched the extended edition of Advent Children and I must say it is completely different from the original cut.

    What Is New:

    - When we go 498 years into the past the "New" opening scene is with Kadaj and Rufus in Edge City bantering before x fight happens and then pulls backword again to Reno in a Shinra chopper at the Great Northern Cave.

    - Denzel has flashback sequence in the ruins of Midgar calling his home the ringing echoes through the cities ruins. He happens across Clouds bike outside the church and swipes his cell and calls the missed call (obviously Tiffa) and collapses when his affliction spreads and is found by Cloud after he collapses. I had wondered how he ended up in the care of Tiffa and Cloud to start with and now I know

    - Seph's avatars are shown attacking Tseng and Elena in the Great Northern Cave

    - When Rufus and Kadaj jump off the floor of that building Tseng and Elena are the ones who save Rufas and not Rude and Reno

    - The battle between Cloud and Sephiroth is completely altered where in the original version Cloud has no injuries visible in this edition he is impailed, run through his right foot-thigh and left cheek is slashed he is more or less poked and proded by Sephiroths sword Blood - Blood and more blood

there are more new sequences + new end Song

The Original Film had a run time of: 140 minutes
The New Cut has a run time of: 206 minutes

Ooh, for the first time I am interested in this. I always thought the Northern Cave scene seemed unfinished actually. I'm glad they expanded it. And the lack of blood in the Seph fight was again awkward. He stabbed Cloud though the freaking shoulder, yet there is no blood. Sounds like a worthwhile upgrade in a world of needless Special Editions.

The initial Print release of the film had the demo for FFXIII I know this because I was in Japan at the time it was released. I'm not certain if the demo will be released with subsequent issues of the film but I can't see why the company wouldn't re-release the demo

Final Fantasy VII Advent Children BD Limited Box Info

    DVD 1 Extended film
    DVD 1 OVA on Denzel
PS3 DEMO of FFXIII [Note: will only play on an Import PS3]

The North American release isn't that far off

Correct me if I'm wrong here folks, but wasn't it Tsung and Elena who saved them in the original movie? They shot the nets across the buildings to catch Rufus before he hit the ground (This is ths scene just before the big bike chase...)

Anyways, it does sound very interesting... Might wait a while for it to drop in price honestly, but I will definately own it one day. The fight with Sephiroth sounds very sweet!

That'll get people buy it. Blood!
Damnit, I hate it when they do this "Extended Edition" Business. Especially for medicore movies like Advent Children.

I never really cared for any of the Final Fantasy Titles outside of 7 I hated Dirge of Cerberus but loved Crisis Core and Advent Children. With the movie I always felt like there were scenes missing from the film and now that I've seen this edition it makes it a better film.

I really enjoyed this movie mainly becuase it had plenty of FF7 music remixed and the battles scenes were a blast to watch. The story was, well, "meh", but what bothere me the most was Denzel. Never really knew why they would try to make us care about this kid that had nothing to do with the game's story. At least this explains how he shows up. Stil, despite its flaws, I'm looking forward to seeing the added content and hope the powers that be will include the FF13 demo with the domestic release.

Stop making me want this film more than I already do.

I already know about the new scene where
Cloud saves Tifa and Denzel whilst simultaneously flashing back to Zack and Aeris' deaths.
I fangasmed a bit when I heard about that.

I love that i'm one of few who seems to adore this film. I'm not sure what people wanted but I thought it was great.

Thanks for the heads up, i'm gonna have to get a hold of the blu-ray version when it gets released over here :)

I'll be double-dipping and I own the first-born-son edition on DVD, but I really did enjoy this movie. My only initial complaint was that the team didn't get together until the end, but that still made their reuinion awesome.
