The explosions need Tanks to fly out of them, even if it's downtown.

For a film that is said to be smaller and darker then ROTF, it sure does sound like its going to be bigger if not as big as the last movie.

I'm glad I'm not living in Chicago for this. This is going to screw up traffic something fierce.

I highly doubt that Bay could match, or even exceed the work of Nolan. No doubt it'll be up to his usual standard, but the standard of The Dark Knight? I don't think so. That's setting the bar a little too high.

Personally I think the Dark Knight Bat chase sequence (from Batman's perspective anyway) is less exciting than the one in Batman Begins is.

The Tumbler hardly features and Batman's 'Wonderful toys' (i.e. Bat-equipment) is written out to soon I feel.

So I prefer Batman Begins over the sequel still - not that the sequel isn't enjoyable I just think the 1st one is a better movie.

Mainly because the second one feels like a Batman movie withou much Batman in it. and the appearance of Gotham is not consistant with how it looks in the 1st Movie (the Monorail or the narrows is not shown really to any extent except in a reprise scene).. it seems like a movie shot in a different place - I guess they no longer had the big sets of the 1st movie so they had to cheat a bit to much and it shows up to much that it's not the same place in my view.
They needed to CGI in more unique buildings and make it look like a specific place consistant with the 1st movie's look. for an I max movie it looks rather small scale at times almost like a TV show in places. it looks like it had half the budget of the 1st one - even the Parachute jump looks a bit unimpressive to me... It just looks like something seen several times before in Bond Movies.

So of the locations in Question were where the Matrix Reloaded's Car chase was Originally going to be filmed.

I think Bay's not going to bother - since he got ripped to shreds for The Island's Car chase being a joke, The Rocks' Car chase involved getting some guys with beams of wood rocking a car in a car park.

I honestly think he's not going to even bother trying to do a decent Car Chase - look how he 'gave up' in 2007 and gave us two or three car chases that never really happen.

Bumblebee Vs Barricade (nothing to see here folks)
Autobots Flee the Dam... (nothing to see here folks)
Autobots arrive in Mission City (nothing to see here folks)

If he's got any sense he'd film scenes that build on the flaws in the 1st two movies either to be added back in to special editions or as flash backs to that expand on the point the 1st 2 failed to make properly.

For example if Sam had to explain how he came into contact with Transformers.. part of that could be a newly filmed parts of the Bumblebee Vs Barricade (car chase that never happened) and some shots of them fighting from Sam's point of view (since they are out of shot in the 1st Movie).

I think I'm hoping for to much mind.
