I'm thinking that since the Classics line is shaping up to be a pretty limited cast I might try to bolster the ranks with some other figures (particularly Universe figures, and extras from other lines that seem like they might fit in with the Classics). At the same time, I'm also wondering what existing figures could be (but haven't already been) repainted to fit in with the Classics figures?
For example, I plan on using Universe 'Deva-fill' as my Classics Devastator (unless a real Classics Devastator is made) and I think it would be pretty cool if they repainted Cyb Downshift as a stand in for a Classics Wheeljack. What would you guys like to see?
I'm also planning on using Universe Repugnus as my Classics Repugnus (particularly since I otherwise don't see them doing such an obscure figure in the Classics).

I'd say that the Energon and Cybertron versions of Wheeljack would probably fit well, with the Classics line. I'm still hoping for a proper Classics Wheeljack. Hopefully they'll get the name right on the box, this time.

Cybertron Landmine, Red Alert, Evac, and Mudflap would all look about right, with the Classics figures. So would Energon Mirage/Dreadwing.

The entire Cybertron Defense team would fit, right down to vehicle scale. I also plan to use small E-Megatron as Classics Galvatron.

Despite being horribly out of scale, Cyb Armorhide would fit in too. He's an almost perfect stand in for Pipes.

I don't have the figure, but Cyb-Crosswise would probably also look right, with the Clasics figures. I don't think E-Hotshot would look too terribly out of place, either.

Energon Swoop, Energon Scorponok, Cybertron Thundercracker, Universe Ultra Magnus (white supercon prime repaint).

I want a set of deluxe sized Contructicons that form Devestator... Forget Menasor and the like. Give us Devestator the original combiner

That would be cool- I always liked that Devy was six similarly sized TFs, rather than one big torso figure and four small limbs.
I'd be very happy if they could do it somehow.
Hell, at this point I'd be happy enough so long as we could just get a decently articulated Devastator/Constructicon combiner with actual hands.

I'd toss Lugnutz in there as a vastly improved Wheelie.

So, we're thinking of articulated G1 characters in scale with the deluxes? Hmmmm....

    Mega PVC G1 Megatron
    Unicron
    Alternators (probably a bit big)
    E. Downshift
    E. Slugslinger
    some other Energon homages

    Hmm.

I'd put I'd put the OTFCC Universe Sideswipe and Sunstreaker in there since i doubt we'll see either of those characters.

The Cybertron Crosswise repaint into Smokescreen will look nice also.

    Energon Downshift is easily Wheeljack.

    RID/Armada Bludgeon.

The Botcon exclusive Ironhide & Ratchet would make nice additions also (assuming I could ever get ahold of a decently priced Ratchet).

    RID Ultra Magnus as Magnus.

RID Optimus Prime as Hot Spot... when he and Magnus combine they become a new Defensor.

RID Prowl makes a nice Prowl.

Cybertron Galaxy Force Optimus as Ginrai.

Hmm... I'll post more if I think of them...

Oh yeah, Cyb Soundwave as Skyjack - yeah, he's really G2 and you'd have to come up with an original identity for his little stealth bird, but the alt mode, face and colors work.

For me I'll be adding the following:

    Cybertron Blurr
Cybertron Runamuck (hopefully they'll create a white re-paint for Runnabout)
    Energon Downshift (as Wheeljack)
    Energon Inferno
    Energon Roadblock (as Grapple)
    Robot Master Mirage
    Botcon Exclusive Ironhide
    Botcon Exclusive Sunstreaker
    Botcon Exclusive Sideswipe
    R.I.D. Prowl
    R.I.D. Sideburn (as Tracks)

I'm going to pick all mine from RiD, Armada, Energon, and Cybertron, since most of those are probably realistically possible. Although I don't believe we'll actually see any Classics beyond the first two waves, these might be fun (and what the Universe line could have been):

    RiD Prime as Hotspot
    Energon Downshift as Wheeljack
Energon Ultra Magnus as a properly-deco'ed Ultra Magnus
    Energon Strongarm as Hound
    Cybertron Red Alert as Ratchet
    Cybertron Mudflap as Grapple
    Cybertron Armorhide as Huffer
Cybertron Hotshot as Sunstreaker & Sideswipe
    Cyberton Crosswise as Bluestreak
Energon Starscream as Ramjet, Dirge, and Thrust
RiD Prowl as Red Alert (although it was done in Universe and Aaron said at Botcon that the mold was shot)
    RiD X Brawn as Ironhide
All of the Energon combiners repainted faithfully into their G1 Counterparts
    Unicron as movie-accurate Unicron
    Energon Slugslinger as Cyclonus
    Energon Sharkticon as Gnaw
    Clocker as Windcharger

On that note, I'd like to add that Drench repaint of A. Wheeljack that was supposed to be part of Universe. Say what you will about Armada molds, but I thought that would've been a cool figure.

    Overhaul.

Yes they were going to call it Trailbreaker, but it screams Brawn to me.

I've already decided that Cybertron and Energon Downshift, C. Crosswise, U. Devastator, RM Liger ( Mirage ) and C. Armorhide are going on the shelf with my classics. Oh, and the Crosswise repaint in G1 Smokescreen colors if he comes out.

I think a lot of late G2 stuff and RID would work.
