So what does it come down to for you guys? Figures or Show?

If one had to be crappy for the other to be awesome, what would you choose-toys or show?

It's not incredibly hard for me to choose toys (over show) simply because I haven’t been fond of any of the TV series since Energon(the early Energon episodes, to be exact). TFC was an absolute nightmare show wise, however its toys might be some of my favorites; TFA is probably better than TFC (show wise) but still has some major issues in my opinion, I think its toys are pretty cool, despite some obvious flaws.

Maybe if a TV series like Armada, or BM, was around, I would care more about the show.

You left out "Awesome Show Awesome Toys" option.

Awesome toys, crappy shows. I can deal with that.

I never watched a single episode of RID, Armada, Energon, Cybertron. But managed to collect some figures from those lines. ;)

Awesome toys with awesome shows, like BW & TFA, are a bonus.

"In betweens" make polls less accurate.

You should give Armada a chance, just ignore the kids(if you can).

    This...

    And this.

I'm in it for the toys. Besides, a Transformers show, no matter how crappy, is still Transformers for me.

Well, you have only 2 options. Black and white with no shades of grey in between is never realistic.
So, that having been said, my answer would be:

There have been awesome shows and awesome toys and there have also been some crappy shows and some crappy toys.

//apologies for being a party pooper (i.e. realist)

Well, do you mean as a fan, or as a collector? I think ultimately it boils down to what's the higher desire.

I think we've all been even in our own tastes on both sides of the fence at some point or another. Personally, I couldn't stand the Energon cartoon, but of all the Unicron Trilogy, IMHO, Energon produced the best Decepticon figures we've had in years as a whole, for me a case of bad show, good toys.

Beast Machines, on the other hand, was for the most part a good show (up until the dreary repetition set in and the diety-aweful ending), but suffered some seriously terrible toys. I'm not talking show accuraracy either, I'm talking as a toy, they weren't very good far more often then not; again IMHO. (Often due to action features hampering articulation or sculpt.) Though, don't get me wrong, there were some good toys in the line, but as a whole, I'd say it wasn't the best toy line IMHO.

Personally, I loathed the movie, and I sincerely regret nearly every movie toy I bought, save for Stockade and Arcee, a case for me of both being bad.

Animated for me has been a best of them both, great show, great toys.

That said, I'd rather have a bad show and good toys.

With the Unicron trilogy we had several years of terrible shows with some very nice toys. Worked fine for me.

Can't vote, choices make no sense to me. How about which do you like better? Figures or shows or even comics?

theres too sides to this. there have been shows that are awesome, but the toys suck (armada - kids) but there have been shows wheere the toys rock but the show sucks (cybertron). i would prefur better toys personally. beast wars season 2 and three were the best era of transformer toys and show mix.

Toys need to be good. That's what the whole deal is about. A good show's definately a bonus, but nothing essential.

It's primaly a toyline, so we need better toys before anything.

But a good show certainly helps, considering lots of times I find myself getting not the "figure with good reviews" but "OGOD I LOVE BULKHEAD HE'LL BE MINE!".

If "Awesome show and Awesome toys" was an option, everyone would pick that making the results useless. Sure there were shows/toylines that fell into this category, but the poll is basically about which is more important to fans, the cartoon or the toys.

A good series, television or comic, is a fundamental part of what makes me a fan.

    Awesome toys, crappy shows.

Transformers is all about the toys, shows are just a marketing gimmick.
