Much prefer the color scheme of regular MP Grimlock but I love the clear orange blade energo sword on the exclusive version.

We see plenty of pics, perhaps your internet in China is filtering it?

Entire package. Toy Hobby Market exclusive figure available for pre-order between August 1 and September 11, ships in December. 13,000 yen retail price but prepare for markups since it's an exclusive.

How big are those mincons? Are they smaller than Legends? I've always wanted that type of construction vehicle as a TF. I did a quick search and he was part of the KMart-exclusive Minicon 12-pack, which I found on ebay for $35. Is it worth that much? I found an auction for just him ,Backstop, for $5 plus $3 shipping. I don't know if he alone is worth $5 though. :-/

It boggles the mind to think about how much that new Grimlock MP-08x will cost as a store exclusive/import to the US. $400 anyone?

The side by side comparison of the Grimlocks is a bit disappointing.

Although I probably would have taken the crown over the waiter outfit, the crown was no biggie. But now discovering that the new one also has a better looking sword, a bit more chrome in the knees and a chest that might be better colored (not sure on this) I suddenly feel like I would have gotten the new one instead if it had been available.

Not a big deal though. My Grimlock is still great.

I'm glad I waited on Grimmy. The packaging and the extras are too good to pass.

Is it just me or does this new Grimlock look like all of his former silvery plastic gray parts are actually painted silver this time around?

Yup its fully painted. I guess its the trade off for not having the waiter accesories or brain transfer device.

I prefer the unpainted grey on the regular version though. The painted silver looks too bright.
