I think i may splurge and get Unite Jazz and Tracks.

 

I like the: "START THE GAMES" line at the beginning of the article, it's a nod to 2010/Season 3's line from Five Faces of Darkness when Rodimus did his little "speech"

 

Definitely getting Tracks/United. Jazz/United, I might get later.

 

I am SO excited that MP Rodimus is appearing magenta in recent images. I thought we'd have to wait for an eHobby version or something for a movie-accurate color scheme (similar to King Grimlock, though he was comic accurate - you get the idea). It will also help really make the eventual Hasbro MP Hot Rod (which will most likely be red/maroon) that much different on the shelf. I keep checking my inbox every day for a shipping notice from AmiAmi.   Only a few more days!!

As far as United goes, I'm LOVING Jazz, Tracks, Wreck-Gar, Grapple, Perceptor and Blurr. I'll get Kup, too, just because I love the character so damned much.

Yeah, I caught that, too. It definitely put a smile on this old timer's face.  

 

Except For Lugnut, they al look better than Hasbro's, but not "better enough" to spend the extra $$ on. The Reprolabels Jazz upgrade kit makes RTS Jazz look better anyway. Still, very nice figures

It'd be nice to see a size comparison between MP Rodimus and MP Optimus.

They did, in Generations 2010.

They do those kinds of comparisons a lot.

Just like MP Grimlock, he should be placed in the Generations / United line for comparisions & scale sake.

Rodimus is the perfect size.. Grimlock is the perfect size. masterpiece prime and megatron were the main leaders in G1.. they're the most recognizable, they're the most popular.. therefor, they're the largest. and it's going to stay that way. i highly highly doubt there will be another masterpiece figure as tall or taller than prime unless it's say.. devastator or omega supreme.. or any other figure that is supposed to be very large.

I mean hell, there are TONS of people who are complaining about the price of this as it is.. but to add 3-5 inches would probably add about $50 or more to the price. plus, if i had to choose between all masterpiece figures being as tall as grimlock or as tall as prime, I'd choose grimlock.

anyways. i think this is going to be one of the best transformers ever. well, i should say it'll be one of my favorite transformers ever.

i really can't wait for this. it feels like the longest i've ever waited for a figure, right up there with leader class starscream.

lastly, i've heard that the base is supposed to reveal the next masterpiece figure, so hopefully someone will translate it relatively quickly and hopefully the translation will be "galvatron". i'd love to see takara try to pull that off.


and now on the the rest of the images.

i think my favorite would have to be perceptor. i don't understand why hasbro always feels the need to give all figures colored windshields. perceptor looks incredible with the frosty windows and the white detailing. i think he might be the only takara version i get.

the flames on wreck gar can easily be removed, i think blurr just looks off, i don't quite need a shiny kup, i personally prefer hasbros lugnut, as it's supposed to be more realistic while the takara version looks more animated, i think wfc megatron surprisingly looks nothing like the game version so with that i like my hasbro version.

jazz really isn't a big deal to me. i definitely wouldn't pay $30 for rear lights and a rear window. and lastly grapple looks awesome, but takara voyagers are much too much. especially just for a yellow head.

... oh, it should be against the rules to type a post this long. i'm sorry if you've gotten to this point.

 

This is where the iGear Prime comes into play, although granted - he's about an inch shorter than I'd like him.

Mind you, I'm guessing the Hot Rod vehicle mode is about on-par with Binal-tech scale which is perfect - a larger Rodimus Prime would cock that up. I'm still looking forward to my first TF purchase for a year next month!
