Sludge's dino face just being like "hey, how's it going? You feelin' down after seeing a giant dinobot combiner kick your ass?" in combined modes is so odd. I'll be keeping it flipped around when I complete these. It's weird, Slag's head is just out there, but it's folded upside-down and doesn't seem so bad, maybe because it's not as expressive as Sludge's. Huh, I didn't realize it was on my mind, but subconsciously I was expecting the Japanese release on these to have an extra weapon for Volcanicus. Poor guy is a street brawler.
I was under the impression (although I can't remember from where now) that two of the Terrorcons will have hands color matched to Hun-Gurr's feet/chest and two matched to their own decos. Is that just something my mind made up?
Unfortunately so, all the Terrorcons seen at NYCC had hand parts matched to their own colour schemes. It's a baffling decision really and seems unlikely to change at this rate.
It lends itself to the notion the combining aspect is playing second fiddle to the Primemaster gimmick. So I wouldn't be shocked if they're the colors they are due to the tooling and molds they were sharing.
They look to be molded to the same color as the individual weapons. This is similar to the Deluxe CW figures...but those all had matching weapon colors between team members.
I still have hope that TT will release Hydra and Buster , or maybe Hasbro will and thus allowing TT to give the go ahead ...They will make perfect legs for Starscream , Blackwing and Dreadwind .And by the look of it , TT will be releasing Major Gestalts together... So Abominus is next I take it .... I all so curious as to if This catolog releases the names of the Combined forms of the Torso bots .
Any chance Starscream’s combined mode has a name in all that katakana? (He asked, knowing the answer).
Given that Hasbro has padded out the Combiner Wars and Titans Return Wave 4 Deluxes with repaints with minimal retooling in the past, I don't think it's that crazy of an idea that Hasbro might do Hydra and Buster in Power of the Primes Wave 4 or later. They wouldn't even need new heads this time, just some different paint.
Don't buy them. That's how you complain. It's called voting with your wallet. And here's a hint: they don't care about you or I. They care about the Japanese fans. So if the Japanese fans don't buy them, they'll get the message. If they do, expect more of this. Frankly, I expect more of this. Unless they buy them from eBay sellers or en masse from a US retailer, it will still be cheaper for Japanese fans to buy the figures locally. Hell, it's still cheaper for me to import the Japanese figures than buy the Hasbro ones here in New Zealand. So honestly, don't expect much to change. Fixed that for you. It's beyond pathetic at this point. Not sure how it hasn't been considered as spam and removed.
A lot of us probably thought Perfect Effect wouldn't have a market for combiner parts again...yet here we are demanding hands the color of BUBBLEGUM!
They're the same as the English names: Volcanicus and Starscream (they don't give Starscream's combined form a separate name, or at least they haven't done so yet). Nothing for Starscream's combined mode, but interestingly, it does mention how Dreadwind and Blackwing (yes, they call him Blackwing even in Japanese, which is odd) are the foreign names for the Godmasters Buster and Hydra (or something like that - I'm terrible at reading kanji). Then it mentions their combined mode, Dreadwing, and how the Japanese name is "Darkwings". Furthermore, it mentions Submarauder by name (not just "Alchemist Prime") and mentions his Japanese name is Gilmer, and it also mentions how he's a Pretender Suit for Alchemist Prime. They also use the Voyager Class and Deluxe Class labels, which isn't something TakaraTomy typically does.
