"Several things about common specifications with overseas are mentioned, and in 2018 it is said that it will be "unifying the world brands on an unprecedented scale" . The fact that the difference between overseas development and Japan deployment has shrunk is considered to be a cause."

I really don't like the sound of this.

As long as Takara has reigns of the MP line Im not that concerned. Sucks for the LG as it was a pretty good complement. It will be less of my money being spent if Takara is no longer doing its variations.LG got me to buy CHUG again without that I probably will turn to picking up post movie 3P mps. I do wonder how this will affect overall sales or even get 3P back into the CHUG game.

I really hope there werent other people who wrote to hasbro about Sakimoto's (sic) comics and that factored in this decision.

Hopefully we still get UW boxed sets.. I don’t WANT them unified globally. I buy from both because we get exclusive characters on both sides of the pond like Alpha Trion and Lio Convoy as well as Victorion and Megatronia. I don’t want to see this end...

I'm still not completely understanding why the unification of the two branches is a bad thing.

Recent releases, with the crisp tampos and added paint apps feel somewhat premium compared to previous domestic releases. If that is what to expect going forward, then what's the problem?

What more proof do you need that Hasbro is buying out Takara to save their own shoddy reputation?!

I welcome the Japanese taking the lead to do a Microman line that then becomes a Hasbro Micronaut line - I don't want Hasbro anywhere near the developement of a shared brand as the initialiser though as they's make something like the comics which isn't what i'd want at all. Oh and don't get me started on Visonaries.

I'm gonna feel pretty sorry for the Japanese if they get stuck with Hasbro's USA editions though - I don't much care if they do it with the Movie line I suppose as it at least saves me having to buy Movie toys twice - which I'm not super keen on doing anyway.

I was hoping very much that the Takara Voyager wouldn't be infested with poorly implemented stickers... so I'm not so happy about that lack (if it is a lack)

    Should I?
Maybe I'm missing some bigger ramification, but it honestly doesn't seem like a bad business decision.

Hydra and Buster really do need to be a different colour though - just as Six Shot was.

Such a shame. When I first started, I bought a fair share of Universe/Generations and Henkei. Then United came but I went with RTS for the most part until I got United Tracks and Jazz and I was wowed! Then we go back to Generations where Takara's releases were too expensive and not worth the additional $20 for some paint changes. Then came CW/UW where I was torn in between and decided to go with Takara all the way. It wasn't until UW Bruticus where I felt Takara started to turn the tide for me; pretty much a landslide victory when UW Computron came out. Except for Galvatron, Legends was just simply amazing. Worth the extra $10 and changes TT made to their figures especially Kup and Blurr. Finally got on the TT train only to transfer back to Hasbro. Just plain sliced bread and butter now. Kinda liked the idea of choosing.

The problem is the new Voyagers and Leaders have horrible stickers on them.

Edit: well, maybe that’s why TT included the Targetmasters with Windblade, Topspin, and Twin Twist. They knew that the inevitable Crosshairs, Pointblank, and Sureshot would be the Hasbro versions without the Targetmasters, so they put them out now so we’d have them.

Or I’m just reading too deep into this :lol

Unified on an unprecedented scale doesn't necessarily mean uniform releases across all lines. I think it's telling that the first round of PotP solicits from Takara specifically omit characters one might expect in a box set. Now, does that mean we'll get Buster and Hydra as opposed to a Dreadwind/Darkwing set? No idea. Will we still see deco differences in UW2.0 (or whatever)? Still no idea, but I think there's a lot of room between UW/Legends vs CW/TR and Takara straight releasing the Hasbro version of toys - anywhere in between those two cases would qualify as "unified on an unprecedented scale."

    Apparently I'm an optimist today
