okay, I made a deal with my wife, where i displayed my figures on two window sills, they are not in contact with the sun mind you, but I want to know what can I use to stand the figures on to have them stand behind each other to show off on different levels?

right now im using tissue boxes. but those are too big and I am running out of room. Any ideas?

Fererro Roche boxes. Eat the chocolates, save the boxes. I've been using those for years to have as cheap containers for trading cards, and I've got a couple of em right now on my BW shelf. I should probably take a picture since its been updated since my last run, but other than getting risers & whatnot, they could work.

I'm going to try using the styrofoam pieces that came with the bookshelves I got to display mine as risers. If they work I may cover them in fabric or something so they match the shelves.

This reply always makes me chuckle. I haven't touched/used/owned a vhs tape since the late 90's!! I cannot believe ppl still use them!

They probably don't for the most part, so everyone might have them lying around or could get them at a thrift store or garage sale for like 5 cents. Much cheaper than buying risers.

And where to buy acrylic risers?

I use a mix of ice cream and generic candy cardboard painted white. There is a "box" seller close to my home, so he have a lot of cardboard boxes of many sizes, bubble wrap, boxes made of the same "bubble" material of carded toys, etc...

This mix looks good, but give to me a lot of work because of the different sizes. And the cardboard didn't clean well (plastic ice cream boxes works very fine).

Stop by The Container Store if you have one locally. You'll easily walk out with $50 spent on pieces and things for displays. I've got a ton of things from there: acrylic risers, display cubes and boxes, various Amac boxes used for risers or Energon Cubes...

That place is all around awesome. One day I'm going to flat out buy a shelving unit from there.

at one time, i used cigarette cartons- dad smoked a lot. i'd reinforce the insides before putting figures on them.

they are long, and slender. that has to be the oddest idea for a riser i have had.

if you have large Utility shelves like i do, if you get risers, you can nearly triple the number of figures you can display, that's what i like about em.

and with smaller figures like Joes or Gundams, my god it helps.

    risers are great

I've thought about doing this with pieces of wood, even to the point of making some really fancy shit instead of just cubes & shit. That fake black felt stuff sounds like it'd be good.

I've got a bunch of those in a box somewhere, but if course no way of playing em.

Hmm, I got a 20% off coupon the other day, so hopefully it hasn't gotten thrown out yet.
