A new SAO Kirito... which is simply the old SAO Kirito with a new sword. figma Kirito: O.S ver. Not a new figure, not a retool, not a 2.0 version, nothing new with this release... except for this extra sword.
And 1000 freaking yen more. I haven't seen Ordinal Scale yet so I didn't get what the point of it was at first. And I still really don't, even if he - for whatever reason - had that outfit in the movie. But he definitely had a different one in all promotional material. A figure of that would have actually made sense. If the sword is some important mcguffin from the movie and he does have this outfit somehow... I do agree with the sentiment I'm seeing elsewhere that a simple rerelease (which alone would be cool for those who still don't have him) and releasing the sword standalone would have made so much more sense. Especially because that's apparently not even an unprecedented thing from them. Bah, whatever.
I see... but that's still odd to have it with the original form. I dunno. I'd want him to have the sword AND the OS outfit, y'know? BUt if that's what they're passing for an Ordinal Scale figure...yeesh. (...still waiting on Lisbeth and Silica Figmas, too...)
The original SAO releases are also so outdated in comparison to today's releases in terms of sculpt and articulation. This should've been an entirely new figure instead of another rerelease with a bonus accessory.
That's pretty much my issue too. Also, does he even wear his SAO outfit in OS? I haven't seen the film yet, but both Kirito and Asuna have new outfits/looks in all the promotional materials I've seen for it.
Received my SAOII Sinon reissue figure not too long ago and she's awesome posed next to SAOII Kirito. I like girls with big guns and I cannot lie.
figma Ulala: Cheery White ver. figma Ulala: Exciting Orange ver. Never owned any Sega system, but I remember her everywhere in game magazines.
