I just recently saw this balls to the wall brawl from the Headmasters series and gotta say it ranks right up there with the last Prime vs Megs battle. I've never seen Soundwave do more than eject cassettes and make empty energon cubes. Holy smoke, his right arm gets blown away and he still takes it to Blaster, frigging punches a hole right through him.

If we were allowed to see kickass TF battles like this maybe the show wouldnt have been canceled. Anyway, it ruled. Just thought I'd say that.

Pity we didn't get a re-match on the same scale between Soundblaster and Twincast.

"You were rebuilt too? It's on again!"

I thought the battle was stupid. especially since they were back to life almost immediately afterwards.

Well that part of it was ******ed. The battle itself was one of the best 1-1 and in the top 5 of the franchise.

I watched it not too long ago. I just felt gray about it. I mean, it was something people wanted for a while, but there just didn't look like there was any heart in it. Like the producers said "this must happen", and didn't care about the end result. I tried making myself feel for the fight, but it just didn't happen.

That seems to be a staple of Japanese/Anime TF shows

Character lives a mostly status-quo life
Character has a giant ass-kicking fight the likes of which was never seen before (for him) and takes on damage that would seem undeniably fatal, and everyone mourns his apparent death.
Character is reborn/rebuilt into a new body in the following episode, and might kick a little ass.
Character goes back to living a mostly status-quo life.

Soundwave should've won, but, yet again, Hot Rod had to intervene.

Though I do like Blaster better than Soundwave. :lol

I don't really see the appeal of Blaster & Soundwave's fight in Headmasters, it's not it's like something we haven't seen before. ***COUGH "Auto-Bop" & "Carnage In C-Minor" COUGH***

The battle itself was of no consequence - both characters were resurrected in slightly new forms almost immediately. Bar the change of name and paint schemes, you could cut that one scene out without disrupting the story.

That whole fight reeks of "Takara wants these redecoed figures pushed in a big visible way." Kind of like they pimped Sixshot and Punch/Counterpunch in "The rebirth."

I don't think so. If anything it would have brought the show down sooner. The "busy-body no it all TV-nannies of america" would have been on them sooner. TF's as a product line had a very high violence level. Especially for it's day (when did He-Man ever swing that sword at anything like he mean't it). Even GI-Joe wasn't as violent as TF's. Joe's and Cobra's only ever shot at each other, TF's shot at and hit each other all the time.

Well considering what site we're on I'm willing to say Boombox could take on Unicron and Primus with both hands tied behind his bank and with an angry Sharkticon gnawing on one of his feet.

But the fight was pretty brutal, but I've only seen the one clip and I don't know how violent the Japanese series were. But it finally did what I've always wondered why nobody else did:

    Punch through the glass chest.

I mean, Optimus, Soundwave, Blaster, Jetfire, the Seekers, and countless others have glass chests but nobody thinks to punch through it.
