Hey everyone!

I know that there is a FFXIII dicussion thread but this isn't to discuss the game, it's to advertise this promo and try to get as many people to participate as possible.

With the official release date now announced for the US and EU (March 9, 2010 WHOO HOO!!!) It seems that the promotions have begun. This one requires a certain number of people to use twitter to promote the release.

I created a Twitter account because fook year free stuff.

 

Free stuff for doing essentially nothing? Count me in.

 

I've done some crazy things in the name of Final Fantasy stuff, but I still won't start a twitter account for this.

 

I'll use my Twitter account for this.  

 

Looks like I'm getting the PS3 version, then. It sounds really dumb that you HAVE to have a Twitter account just to get one certain item for the game.

Well I am sure that they will do something equally "dumb" for a promotion for the PS3 version. Probably something like "Fan us on Facebook!" Will you then decide you won't get either version???  

 

I am sure they will do something for the EU version. This is going to be their big ticket item for 2010. They are going to promote the hell out of it.

 

No, I'd still get one of the two versions...just wouldn't have that special item. But then again, the special item might end up being an Avatar award or something for Playstation Home.

Just registered. Waiting for the code. Looks like retweeting this every day paid off.

 

Getting it on PS3. This, Star Ocean, and Diagaea 3 will keep me in a happy bubble of escapism from that thing out there they call "real life" whatever that is.

 

Doubtful, Xbox is already at a disadvantage when it comes to FFXIII (multiple discs and potentially losing a voice track) so MS needs things to help promote the game. This doesn't seem to be SE's doing, this is all MS's promotion, especially since they just started that new deal with Twitter as well. UK and PS3 probably won't get anything free from getting FFXIII and using Twitter or anything.

Though I did hear that pre-orders might receive something special relating to FFXIV. That would probably sell more copies early then a chocobo avatar from signing up to Twitter.

 

Playstation 3 version it is, then.  

 

Ok so I tried to register (signed in with my xbox live e-mail) and it told me it wasn't available in canada, so I clicked ok and then it said the code would be sent to my e-mail in December.

 

If you already have an Xbox, why not get it anyway? The promo never said you had to get the Xbox version of the game.

 

I know, but since I'm getting a Playstation 3 for Christmas I might as well change sides here.
