Most of the ones I've fiddled with have had that problem, and I think part of it has to do with the design of that peg not only being shallow or whatever, but that's also supporting the weight of the figure in a way that gravity wants to pop it out. Oddly enough, the one I have now is one of the better ones when it comes to this, so I haven't really had the urge to start sheering off plastic. It's probably an issue of the male end being either too big or too small, at least in terms of what can hopefully be done to make it stay in better.
