    The Next Generation.

Original Trek was good fun, but TNG had more interesting and fleshed out characters with superior writing for the most part. I've never been impressed by Voyager or Enterprise.

DS9 might change my mind, but sadly I haven't seen enough of it to make an opinion.

DS9, hands down. It had a great cast of characters and a lot of fantastic ongoing plots. The last few seasons with the Dominion War were just plain amazing.

Original Series with TNG and DS9 close behind

my first exposure to Trek was the Original and it was and is awesome when you take into consideration what they were able to achieve effects wise with the tech available.

and all of Bones "Im a doctor not a _____" FTW!

TOS!!!! I could never get tired of it. I can't help laugh every time McCoy goes "He's dead Jim" :lolol  Such classic stuff.

I mean this stuff is just gold

And God Shatner was HOT back in the day.

A real tie between TNG and DS9 - ultimately voted for DS9.
TNG is the best STAR TREK TV series of the above.
DS9 is the best TV series of the above.
    See the difference?

Trek's a bit like James Bond - the first one you see always holds a special place in your heart regardless of the quality of others.

TNG was my "first" Trek, and so in a way, it will always BE definitive Star Trek for me, even though it wasn't the first.

Kinda like how Roger Moore IS James Bond; he was the first (for me). Doesn't matter that all the others are better, he just...is.

I'm a Next Generation man, I'd happily serve under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard aboard the USS Enterprise-D. Though Riker got better when he got his beard.

Engage and make it so, Number One.

The original series has my favorite characters, but I prefer the writing in TNG over all of them.

TNG all the way. I keep picturing Beverlly Crusher and Diana Troy doing it. Yummy!

    The Next Generation.

I tried to watch other series like Voyager and Deep Space 9 but never got into it. TNG is the only one that I watched on a consistent basis. All the core actors are solid and casted well. Jean Luc Picard is the best captain ever and having the Borgs as the ultimate nemesis is a stroke of genius. I'd love to own the entire series on DVD one day.

I have a relationship with Star Trek similar to what some Star Wars fans have. In that I hate part of the franchise, and really love others. My favorite is DS9, and I loathe TOS.

TNG. While DS9 is great storytelling for Star Trek fans, TNG is great storytelling for EVERYBODY. Accessible, aesthetically-pleasing and intelligent science fiction is like lightning in a bottle, and TNG captured it - for 7 seasons.

My favourite is TNG and second Voyager. When I was a kid, I loved TOS, but nowadays I can barely see any episode, it's too goofy for me now. Especially Kirk. At first I thought "Why has this Enterprise a grandpa as Captain?" when TNG was announced, but that was no problem later on. I like him best as Captain. But Janeway I could only accept, but sometimes she was really annoying and I wished Chacotay were Captain...

Let's not forget the awesome "Q" in Star Trek TNG. That character is superb!

I'm just wrapping up DS9 with a few more episodes to go, the first time I watched the show since it ended. As a whole product, the show is superb versus the others, even if that's a little unfair to TOS and TNG for a myriad of technical reasons out of their control.

TNG reruns are on TV from time to time, and I continue to be amazed at some of the episodes and how poorly they hold up. I mean, I lived and breathed this show growing up. However, now some of the episodes from the first few seasons are simply unwatchable, as are some from Season 7 (the ep where they all mutate to animals), which few big fans would quivel about. Troi and Geordi eps were the absolute worst and are instant channel flippers for me. TNG had some gems though, like 'The Best of Both Worlds' and 'Pegasus' which helps its case as the second best series. Patrick Stewart is the heart and soul of TNG and it wouldn't have been what it was without him.

Voyager I'm just starting to rewatch now. It had its problems (boring new alien enemies (Kazon....snore, Species 8675309...) and wimpification of the Borg), but it's still entertaining for me. I just never liked Neelix.

TOS is just too old for me, and half their movies are terrible (1, 3, 5).

Enterprise I watched for a season or so and then gave up on it, so I'm not qualified really to judge it. But, I understand the last season was decent so I may try to give it another chance one day.

I always liked TNG, with DS9 right behind.

I don't think Voyager gets enough love though, with its " Going where no- wait a minute...WHERE THE HELL ARE WE?" thing .........

Voyager had so much potential to be "dark" until they screwed it up.

Enterprise was pretty much crap from the beginning.

    DS9 was very good.

TOS/TNG were both very good for their times.
