Throughout the TF saga, Megatron has possessed a variety of different helmets. Which helmet designs are your favourites?

The bucket-head helmet – a classic and practical design that has had various style tweaks over the years.




The spider helmet – A little over-the-top, but then this was a Megatron with multiple alternate modes, he can wear whatever he wants.


The beetle-jaw helmet – The same as for RID2001 Megatron.


The crown – it makes him look regal and imperious, as befits a Decepticon leader.



My favourite designs are the bucket-head and the crown.

 

I like Prime Megatron's helmet (and design in general) most because it is a more stylized version of the G1 bucket-head helmet without being a direct copy and paste of the original.

 

I feel the same way about the helmet on Classics/Henkei Megatron. Past that, I don't really feel much for the other versions.

 

I'm going to go with Beast Machines Megatron's head, with TLK Megatron's helm as a close runner-up.

 

Bucket and crown are my two favourite, especially on the 2007 Megatron.

 

Where's the option for BW Megatron's head?

 

His head was also a bucket-head.


But I consider him a descendant of Megatron and not Megatron himself.

 

He's still a Megatron, though.

And I pick his TM helmet design. The claws/spikes on the cheek and chin guards were badass.

 

I went with the G1 look. Classic Megatron.

 

Good ol' bucket helmet and the crown for me.

 

I voted beetle-jaw. Though I'm not entirely sure what that means. I think I like his Cybertron helm best out of those listed above. Though the Beast Wars helm was pretty cool too. Movie wasn't bad either.

 

Eh, i picked the Beetle headed merchant too.

To be honest is cuz' man... it looks like it has the most function. Also, as much as the classic bucket head is my second favorite... it's basically... kinda a bucket head. It's great for nostalgia though.

 

I like the crown look movie Megatron has. I always like Megatron's that look fancy, especially if it gives them a leader look.

 

I love the look of the Animated helmet. Looks very militaristic which really fits with the theme of the Decepticons in that show.

Never really noticed the crown look to the Movie helmet, but now that you mention it, I can definitely see it. That gets second place from me!

 

How are those helmets? That's his head... I've never seen him take it off. Is this a joke thread?

 

Only in the way that Megs has been called "Ol Buckethead" by many fans over the years, especially G1 Megs.


I went with the G1/TFA/Prime version...

 

The bucket, followed by crown. The bucket just feels more like the helm of a warrior.

 

I think it's pretty obvious that the focus of the thread is about what Megatron's head looks like, and which is whose favorite. Don't see how this can be considered a joke thread.

 

Bucket head cuz his Prime design is hands down my favorite Megatron design. But I do have a soft spot for the Unicron Trilogy designs since they're what I grew up watching.

 

I'm going to have to go with bucket head all due to the fact that it's pretty much a classic.
