Well i think several threads existed about headsculpts but new members, new releases, new remolds/repaints i guess. What are your favourite headculpts from the figures you own? Rating them not with accuracy to screen but design/sculptwise, paintjob, lightpiping, head gimmicks and general level of coolness? Provide small photos if you can (doesn't have to be your photo)

I'll start (i mostly have movie stuff, so):

I don't have it yet, but mine would be Prime Hot Shot. With it's blue light piping and goggles, I just love it.

ROTF Voyager Megatron's head sculpt is fantastic. Scary looking, full of sharp details. Regardless if you like the movie's aesthetic, that's a great head sculpt.

HFTD BB Bumblebee and Animated Voyager Optimus Prime. I love built in head gimmicks like sliding faceplates and goggles.

DOTM Shockwave is one. That is perfection, great light piping too.

DOTM Crankcase has a great one, fucking scary man.

Sidearm Sideswipe's is a perfect match for the model. Shame it's so small.

RTS Jazz looks like he SHOULD NOT be fucked with.

HFTD Terradive's is cool, looks like a dangerous, sophisticated hunter.

HFTD Hailstorm's looks like some grumpy dude with a ROTF Soundwave style mouthplate. You know, the type with a ton of moving plates to it.

HFTD Axor's is cool too, love the bug eyed light piping.

HA Sandstorm's is really nice, reminds me of Mirage/Dino.

Battle Blade Bumblebee has a great one too. Great match to the model, and love the faceplate.

And I really like PRID Arcee's for some reason. She looks sweet.

I quite like the head sculpts of Animated Bumblebee, Universe Cyclonus and the Classics Coneheads. I don't have Animated Wreck-Gar, but I love that adorable expression of his.

    Most recent one: TFP Soundwave.

He doesn't need a deception insignia. His face is the insignia.

I gotta say that I'd probably start with the headsculpts from Binaltech and Alternators, and work my way backwards in time as well as forward to now.

The reason I mention the Alt/BT line is because that's the line where I really paid a lot of attention to head sculpts, mainly because I work with them so often.

I'm better off mentioning the ones I don't like, simply because I'm a pretty big fan of the sculpting work that's went on for decades now. The movie toys have done well, but even those aren't the victims of Hasbro - they're the victims of bad design work. They lack the iconography that G1 and many other lines have.
