Title pretty much says it all, the Decepticon leadership passed hands many times in the G1 comics, and there were splinter factions and civil wars galore.

I think I have everyone covered (couldn't decide whether to put underbase powered Starscream in since he was essentially a one man army).

My vote goes to Thunderwing, the only Decepticon able to use the the Creation Matrix, and just an allround badass.

Anyone else find it amusing that Starscream doesn't even make the list?

When I voted for Scorponok, I was really voting for his Japanese-Headmasters counterpart, Megazarak, the Shadow Emperor. I do also like Megatron and Galvatron.

Galvatron from the Animated movie (he became too much of a caricature in season 3) or Galvatron from the Marvel comics (both UK and US versions were entertaining).

Megatron - he is an Icon. Nothing is more bad ass than him blowing away Ironhide as if he was removing lint from his pants....

In most G1 continuities yes, but, in the IDW comics, they are separate characters.

I have to give it to Bludgeon on this one. A bunch of Decepticon leaders have come close to beating the Autobots, but Bludgeon would have actually eradicated them if it weren't for an ACT OF GOD. He had a golden opportunity, granted, but I have to give him props for coming that close to victory.

Megatron, hands down. Don't know enough about the other leaders to give an accurate opinion.
