With the WFC material that's being released, there's been some talk about Cybertronian altmodes, along with the pros, cons, preferences, and form/function rationality that goes hand-in-hand with such discussion. It's all quite interesting.

To continue this discussion, what are some of the Cybertronian-mode designs you've liked best in the past quarter century history of Transformers?

I absolutely love the new Bumblebee altmode. It seems to unify a lot of classic Bumblebee elements into one slick design.

And yet I also love the G1 Cybertronian design. It's definitely one of the best of the original Cyb-altmodes.

A big favourite of mine is Titanium Prowl. I'd like the toy a lot better if the altmode locked together and wasn't so floppy, but I like the design so much I cut the toy a lot of slack. Feels like something out of a movie, like Blade Runner or the Fifth Element or something.

I'd like to mix Prowl in with some of the WFC toys I'm sure to get, but I dunno how comfortably hovercars and wheeled vehicles can co-exist.

Thoughts? Any you'd care to add? Post your favourites, anything from toys and cartoons, to comics and movies.

Images are appreciated where possible. Also, feel free to post any you haven't liked, or even hated.

But seriously, I've always loved Animated Ratchet's Cybertronian vehicle mode.

    Same here, they looked cool.

Also liked Spittor's Cybertron mode too.

    Vehicon's rocked.

I also liked movie Megatron's very BM-like jet mode from the first movie.

But my all-time favourite is deffinately Animated Ratchet's turtle-tank.

Pros of Cybertron modes: Often unique, interesting and charatcerful.

Cons: You always get people complaining that they "don't turn into anything, so they're not Tranformers."

I definitely like the Cybertronian designs from Dreamwave's War Within comic.

Of course, I'm digging the Cybertronian designs of the characters that we've seen so far for the new game.

I'd have to say that right there is my favorite Cybertronian alternate mode. :lol  Seriously, no Autobot (or Decepticon) would ever suspect a Cybertronian street lamp post to be a Transformer.

I don't much care for Megatron's new altmode.

I don't understand the deal with it. Does it have sideways treads? No treads at all? What's the means of locomotion? Is it a hovertank?

I'm just not seeing anything to like. It's all so abstract. I think I actually prefer Megatron's tankmode from ROTF. That felt heavy, powerful, vicious.

I suppose I do like the colour scheme here though, that's classic Megatron. Maybe it'll grow on me.

That alt mode really reminds me of some hand held weapon I saw in some TV show or film once (rather frustratingly, I can't remember which one).

Beyond that, it just looks like a more angular version of TFA Meg's Cybertron mode, with the wings folded in.

I really hope they bring out a decent toy for another important Decepticon, because I want something decent to go up against the rather cool looking Prime, but that Megatron ain't gonna be it.

I've always been partial to the tetrajets. Very simple, yet alien, and cool looking. Yes I know they're really just flying pyramids, I don't care, I like them anyway.

And you gotta love Soundwave's lamp post disguise.

ROTF Megatron's tank mode was a huge improvement over the previous jet mode.

The tetrajets from the original cartoon - like cosbydaf said, they are very alien and cool looking. the WW versions of them were always too busy for my liking, not like the sleek, simple look of the cartoon versions (well, except for Skywarp - his WW design was pretty sleek).

In fact, all the MTMTE cybertron modes were pretty nice looking, except maybe Soundwave's lol
