Just picked up a G1 Megatron in a trade and damn, this figure is awesome, though its an odd looking figure it just screams badass, with all the different versions of Megatron out there which one do you think captures his personality and toughness the best?

I know I left a bunch out of the poll(just too many to name imo)but the thread question is not limited to the 4 listed.

Toy-wise or character-wise? I was/am tempted to create a similar thread about favorite toy version of Megatron, seeing as I own somewhere between 20-30 Megatrons.

Toy wise, absolute favorite is RiD Megatron/Galvatron/Gigatron/Devil Gigatron (whew!). Any iteration of this bad boy is great! The sculpt is top notch, the imaginative unlimited number of alt modes is cool, most of the real alt modes are nifty, awesome double swords that can combine into a Darth Maul-esque weapon or shoot flame blasts! Just awesome.

Second favorite is Cybertron Galvatron. The toy is also really good, befitting the look of an Emperor of Destruction. Both RiD and Cybertron Megatron/Galvatron are interesting in that they don't seem like they'd be good figures. You have to play with them in hand to realize how awesome they are.

Character wise, I did enjoy Cybertron Megatron/Galvatron a lot from the show. I am a fan of Japanese super robot anime, and the character from Cybertron was perfectly over the top. Combined with David Kaye's always superb vaudevillian voice acting.

Frank Welker's Prime Megatron is also great, tying with David Kaye for best Megatron.

No Animated or Beast Era Megatrons? Those two both in character and toys are some of the best.

BW Megatron is not only one of my favorite toys but also one of my favorite characters. Not only is he just pure evil. But, he's also kind of a rogue type of leader. He makes a great villain for Optimus Primal.

    Beast Wars

Surprised that you opted to include G2 Megs (aka the same as G1 Megs) but not BW Megatron.

Probably would've been better posted in the toys sub-forum to discuss just the toys.

I mean, G2 could be the giant tank, the hero tank, and some could consider the machine wars as G2.

Anyway, my top five favorite Megatron toys:
    1. RiD Galvatron
    2. Cybertron Galvatron
    3. WfC Megatron
    4. Megabolt Megatron
    5. Animated deluxe Megatron
