Lots of movies are underrated, but my favorite has to be the "Bill and Ted" movies. There so trippy, but fun and enjoyable at the same time. *Air Guitar* :D

    What about you?

I wasn't aware the Bill and Ted films were under-rated, but ok. Hudson Hawk. It's funny and still being slated based on a knee jerk reaction of "Bruce Willis is an action film dude, he shouldn't do comedy."

    Agreed on Hudson Hawk.

I think Ready to Rumble is underrated, especially Oliver Platt's performance as 'The King.'

I'll throw in Stranger than Fiction and Punch-Drunk Love in the mix also.

Would any of the Will Farrell movies like Bewitched and Ricky Bobby count as under-rated movies?

A very large amount of people have little to no care about those movies.

Bewitched maybe, but I think Ricky Bobby is pretty well regarded.

Maybe in the 20 and under crowd, but Bill and Ted is the shit with us 80s babies.

I think there's a difference between being under-rated and a movie being before your time. A lot of people my age haven't watched The Big Sleep, that doesn't mean it's under-rated.
I have never understood the hate for Hudson Hawk. I can understand people not liking it, it's a fairly quirky movie that isn't going to appeal to everyone (see also Kung Pow: Enter the Fist), but I don't see the terrible. I find it a fun action comedy movie with some decent songs. I (said Sledge, who appreciated the personal pronoun and was apt to become loquacious when he found a good sentence could be started with it) really think that the criticism comes from Bruce Willis daring to do something that wasn't straight action after doing Die Hard. Pretty ironic when you consider that he'd made his living in quirky comedies prior to Die Hard.

Don't know if it's considered underrated or not, but I've always loved the movie Airheads.

Batman Returns. I love that movie, but I never hear anyone talk about it.

Batman Returns is great...until the end. Seriously, Batman and Robin had a better ending than Returns.

Exactly. When Excellent Adventure came out it was pretty hot. It's not as popular with it's target demographic nowadays because tastes have changed (for the worse).

As for my pick, I'm going to say Young Einstein.

To pick one, I would say Lady in the Water. Practically everyone says it was terrible, but I thought it had a kinda surreal, quirky feel to it. Not my favorite movie by a stretch, but I watched it and liked it and was shot down everytime I've said so.

Also, I guess you could say Revenge of the Fallen, since I enjoyed it yet it's one of the lowest rated movies around.

Does Equilibrium count as under-rated? I remember reviews at the time being pretty unflattering, but IMDB shows a fairly respectable score for it now.

Stranger than Fiction is great. Is it rated low by most people?

Another wonderful one. But I wouldn't say it's underrated -- I've never heard anyone say anything but great things about it. Underviewed, perhaps.

Not sure if this one is more underviewed or underrated, but I think The Fountain is amazing.

Movies nearly everyone else seems to hate that I really like would include Indy 4, Terminators 3 & 4, and Hulk.
