He comes with multiple hand options. Dai Atlas does too, as will their DJD. Brilliant addition and adds a real touch of class.

 

My own eyes were drawn to Blot. Mine turned up today but I don't think i'll get a chance to play with him until Sunday afternoon. I love how different he looks to Rippersnapper. I feel like those two are going to be way up the top of my end of year list.

Totally! Someone posted a picture in the UK thread of all the '85 to '87 combiner Generations updates (bar Predaking, obviously) and I was totally awed. If I stop and think about it I'm still amazed we've got Superion alone, never mind everything else. The Prime Wars stuff has been a real gift and a total joy. While I'm keeping an open and optimistic mind, I can't help but think that this new trilogy won't be nearly as much of joygasm as what we've had over the last few years.

And on that note, Superion and the lads!

 

I really don't blame you, they would have to go to extraordinary lengths to top what we've had in the last few years. If they go for brand new exciting stuff, that will be its own joy, but the lack of nostalgia will always be felt - or rather to put it positively, the strong echo of nostalgia in the recent stuff will always elevate it  

God I love G1 Superion, btw.

I too am totally in love with what the last two/three years have given us. I really hope this train doesn't stop......

 

I think we'll get some gems. I've got tremendous faith in the design team, having revelled in the passion they've been putting into the Generations stuff. Like, if we do get, say, Starsaber, I'm confident it's going to be magnificent. It's just...it's not going to have that line wide excitement that CW, TR, and -perhaps to a lesser extent- PotP have had, for all those reasons you've stated.

I think we're safe in here. I rarely see any of the joy police commenting in this thread, which is why it's one of my favourites on this forum.
I'm totally on board the train. They'd have to really fumble badly to lose me at this point.

 

if WFC is going to be their excuse to wade into Takara-only characters, mate that would be brilliant. Mind races at the possibilities, but at the same time I wonder if it's all going to come back into line wit the IDW reboot and core source material stuff; Optimus vs Megatron, the usual lieutenants...but with added Starsaber and Deathsaurus  

Fave Scrable City...oooh tough one, I have fallen deeply for the combined mode and colours of G1 Abominus, but the gold and overall look of my first Superion from last year really sticks in my mind.

Gah...I'm gonna go with Abominus for now, because those colours man.

I think Warden's a pretty shrewd guy and knows that he can't keep drilling down into the more obscure recesses of the G1 franchise. The Pretenders as Prime Masters were inspired, but where do you go after that and still maintain a broad appeal? Much as you're saying, I think it might be a lot of the classic '84/'85 dudes with a smattering of guys we've never seen before. Impactor's appearance and triumph on the fan vote certainly lends some weight to that idea.

I'm sorry man, I'm a monster. Your decision making process on this sort of subject feels a lot like my own.
