I read the posts, 13 choices, yeah yeah yeah.

Still say Universe/Classics. I love the G1's/BeastWars/Animated/Movies'verse toys.

But the ones I actually am constantly fiddling with and having a really good time putting into different poses is without a doubt the Classics/Universe figures. (the actual ones, not repaints from previous lines shoehorned into universe packaging)

G1 for me and not because I grew-up with it but it had a wide variety of gimmicks:

    i) Die-cast gimmick and the alternate modes were decent. For example G1 Optimus, Sideswipe, Prowl looks like toy cars from mid-far range. The die-cast gave the alternate modes the extra heft.

ii) Combiners. We had combiners like Defensor, Superion, Predaking etc. And the combiners had their themes. For example, Defensor's theme is "protect and serve".

iii) Bases. We had TFs that transform into bases for playability. Metroplex could interact with the earlier combiners. There was an instructions of sorts that documented this.

iv) Pretenders. Not exactly memorable but still a decent concept.

    v) "Masters". Headmasters, Target masters

vi) Multiple transformations such as Sixshot and the triple changers.

vii) Unique alternate modes. For example, the Dinobots, Skylynx

viii) Motorized action for some TFs such as Omega Supreme

ix) Electronics such as Galvatron and Shockwave

    x) Micromasters. TFs even have mini TFs that could complete with micromachines.

To me, G1 was indeed an amazing toyline.

G1 all the way, I grew up with it and its the strong foundation for all that came after , and i think you should have combined Beast Wars and Beast Machines as their story lines are strongly linked with Beast Machines being a sequel to Beast Wars

I love G1, Almost all of TF Japan, G2 was good for me in the 90's as well as the books, BW at almost all angles rocked! CR/Rid brought back my interest since BM didnt exist to me. Armada and Energon didnt exist either, but Cybertron made up for the lost time. Animated cartoons were cool, the toys were another story. Universe Classics and Classics are my new favorite line. Although I have a beef with trying to omit the whole timeline and events of
    G2. Thats not right.
