Sub groups are often a highlight of Transformers; usually they're a team of 'bots or 'Cons with a specific theme. The Predacons in G1 were a team of beast-formers; the Dinobots are dinosaurs (No shit Sherlock); Vehicons totally non-organic drones for Beast Machines Megatron to use to exterminate organic life; Seekers all jets and Starscream repaints. Aerialbots, Seacons, Combaticons, Stunticons, Wreckers, Fuzors, the list goes on and on and on and on (Strangers, waiting...). Do you have a favorite?

It can be specific to a continuity; the Beast Machines Vehicons are entirely different from the Prime Vehicons. Or you could just prefer how the G1 Dinobots were over how the Animated Dinobots. It depends on your preference, but you can count the Maximals and Predacons in Beast Wars, despite them technically being the "main" factions in the show.

My personal favorites: The Animated Seekers, the G1 and Animated Dinobots, and the Beast Machines Vehicons as my top favorite.

The Beast Machines Vehicons, despite not being good guys like the Maximals, were always the most memorable members of the show's cast. Thrust was a cool lone wolf type, Jetstorm was cocky and snarky, Obsidian and Strika were two badass and dangerously intelligent war generals, and Tankor was a comically dumb brute ("I will SMAAAAASH mouse-bot!") before becoming, well, you know.

 

Seacons. They're a bunch of robots who turn into monstrous sea creatures and combine to form a terrifying leviathan of tremendous power.

 

Technobots.

 

Seconded.

 

Dinobots (any and all breeds)

my favourite sub group? the animated stunticons

 

Stunticons guy over here. They appeal to the gearhead in me.

 

Love the art of war, so Combaticons really tickle me fancy. Also Seacons since I love ocean stuff.

The Aerialbots need some love, so I'll vote for them.

 

Insecticons then the Combaticons

 

Lightning Strike Coalition. They seem very much to be a collection of Autobots who have banded together for no reason other than ambushing Decepticons. They're like the Wreckers, but with surprisingly less collateral damage, given that they've got all the Dinobots on their team.

 

1. Dinobots (brutal)
2. Constructicons (because i'm myself an engineer)
3. Stunticons (their name says it all, stunts. love it)

 

Cybertron Defense Team.

Because their toys are beyond cool.

 

That'd be my second choice.


If you could get to the spot after infinity, there'd be the Wreckers. I hate that concept with a mortal passion.

 

it is a close race between predacons and dinobots for me. I choose predacons cause they make my favorite gesault predaking followed by the dinobots.

 

I suppose I would have to go with the Wreckers, although they have been a bit worn out in various TF media of late. The original '80s version is still the best IMO.
